Sometimes the simplest ideas make the most joyful jewellery. 🍋✨
This cute little lemon slice pendant began life as a plain block of blue jeweller's wax and, using just a few simple carving tools, was transformed into a cheerful citrus-inspired design. The segments were carefully carved and textured to capture the look of juicy fruit flesh, while the pith and outer rind were smoothed for contrast.
One of my favourite things about wax carving is how much detail can be achieved with such straightforward techniques. A few carved lines, a little texture, and suddenly a flat piece of wax starts to tell a story.
After carving, the pendant was cast in recycled sterling silver and polished to a beautiful high shine, bringing all those tiny details to life.
If you've ever looked at jewellery and wondered how it's made, this is exactly the sort of project you can learn to create at my upcoming wax carving workshops as part of the on 6 June.
Is it too early for a G&T... 🤔🍋💛
