I’m so excited for you because not only does this one of a kind pendant feature black opal - a variety of opal which is not often seen, but also that it offers red flash - one of the rarest colour flashes to have in any opal.

Although it is called a black opal it isn’t totally black as you might imagine. This particular gemstone has the most exquisite flashes of green and red when you move it in the light. It’s so hard to capture it’s beauty in a photograph.

Hand cut into the ‘shield’ shaped design is a stylised runic symbol. I was inspired by the Viking Elder Futhark runic alphabet and the symbol featured on this pendant is Eihwaz (Ihwaz) – believed to symbolise patience, perseverance, wisdom in adversity.

A truly special gift for a really special person.
