And we are back! I'm doing a second year with the wonderful SilverHub Jewellery School and Studios
One of the biggest takeaways from last year was how much I learnt through the year -not just technically but how to approach visual research and design. I'm really excited to be learning again! Few pics from research and classes so far

Highly recommended books - they give a really strong sense of the North of Scotland in an age where life was changing quickly. Also strong characters that you just need to know what happens to them.

Her debut novel ‘A Sense of Jane’ was inspired by the life of her great grandmother born illegitimately in 1857. An interest in research resulted in a love of all things Victorian and the desire to put Jane's life into words.

Her second novel, ‘Charlie’s Ghost of a Chance,’ a work of fiction, is the first in a series which follows the Ross family in Aberdeen where the life of the gentry involves ambition, scandal and betrayal. She is currently penning its sequel, ‘Scandal at Balfour Hall.’

SilverHub Jewellery School and Studios
It's been one heck of a year. If anyone had told me I could make all these pieces a year ago I would have laughed. I'd just returned to making after a 7-8 year break when I did a year night classes and was definitely a bit rusty. Now I'm looking forward to the next year and what comes from it. Thanks to all who taught (esp Lisa) and my glorious cohort of students

Little reminder that it's now less than a week till the exhibition. First one ever 😱.
Obviously I'll be there for the opening on the Thursday and will then be there on the Saturday afternoon and all day Sunday if you know me and fancy coming along - it would be great to see folk and show you what I've been up to. There are another 5 artists exhibiting who have some brilliant and unusual work for you to see too. We've worked hard this year and whilst we are still learning (all of us continuing at a variety of institutions) we have grown so much over the past year at SilverHub. If I've got to this point in one year I'm excited to see what the next brings

Just a couple of weeks to go till our graduation exhibtion! Opens 19th June 6-9pm and then continues till Sunday 22nd June 11am to 5pm, Custom House Gallery 67 Commercial Street Leith. See you there!
