There is a story behind this photo of my front door.....

On the left sits a statue in memory of my beloved dog Anu, on the right is my mum's dog Lady. Anu was a hybrid mix of Alaskan Malamute/Husky/German Shepherd. He was a law unto himself 🤣. Many times I'd come home to him sitting in a different place to where I'd left him! He loved being outside, and would frequently sit in the rain, much to my dismay! 🫤

As he got older and more infirm, I couldn't bear him getting soaked by the rain anymore, so we built a gazebo with a waterproof rain cover - he still sat outside it! 😬

The inevitable finally happened, and when I moved into this property, I placed 'Anu' & ' Lady' outside my front door. One day when I was coming home in heavy rain, I realised his statue was sitting right under a broken gutter - it was pouring down on him. Still. I went to move him, but I thought, no, he always wanted to be in the rain , so I left him there, and that is why he is green, and Lady (who hated getting wet) is still pristine 🥹

I made this ring for someone who didn’t want anything showy.
Just something solid and real.
