We’ve had lots of new faces joining our page recently, so it’s definitely time for a proper reintroduction to White Wolf Crystals & Healing and the person behind it! 🐺💚

I’m Lauren, owner of White Wolf Crystals & Healing here in Rugeley. I’m also a single mum of five and disabled myself, living with hEDS (Hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome).

Running a business, raising five children and navigating a disability certainly isn’t always easy 😂, but my own experiences are a massive part of why White Wolf has become the place it is today.

I understand invisible disabilities. I understand chronic pain, fatigue and having a body that sometimes simply won’t cooperate. I understand that some people need more time, reassurance, patience or adjustments.

And here, you NEVER need to apologise for that. 💚

🚨 I’M GOING TO SAY IT… BECAUSE CRYSTAL BUYERS DESERVE BETTER! 🚨

I’m genuinely sick and saddened by some of the things I’m seeing being sold in the crystal world lately.

As someone who buys, sources and handles crystals regularly, I know what these pieces cost at source — and some of the prices I’m seeing are absolutely ridiculous. 😡

But what bothers me even MORE is seeing customers being sold something without being told what it actually is.

❌ Man-made pieces being presented as natural
❌ Resin being sold as “crystal”
❌ Dyed or treated stones with no disclosure
❌ Incorrect crystal names being used
❌ Glass being marketed as natural stone
❌ Mass-produced pieces being given fancy names to justify huge prices
❌ And one of my biggest bugbears… SELENITE vs SATIN SPAR!

That beautiful fibrous, silky white material commonly sold in towers, bowls, charging plates and wands is very often satin spar gypsum, yet it is constantly labelled and sold as “selenite.” They are both forms of gypsum, but they are NOT the same crystal habit — and customers deserve to know what they are actually buying!

Other commonly confused, altered or misrepresented materials include:

✨ Opalite — usually man-made glass, NOT natural opal
✨ Goldstone/Blue Goldstone — beautiful, but man-made glass
✨ Aura Quartz — genuine quartz can be treated/coated to create the aura finish; it isn’t naturally found looking like that
✨ Howlite — often dyed and sold as turquoise
✨ Quartz/Agate — frequently dyed into incredibly bright colours
✨ “Cherry Quartz” — commonly a manufactured glass material
✨ Malachite — resin/imitation versions are everywhere
✨ Moldavite — heavily faked because genuine material can be expensive
✨ Citrine — some material sold as citrine is actually heat-treated amethyst
✨ Obsidian — some brightly coloured “obsidian” products on the market are manufactured glass rather than naturally occurring obsidian

And here’s the thing…

There is NOTHING wrong with selling man-made, treated, dyed or altered pieces! Some of them are absolutely gorgeous. 😍

The problem is when the customer isn’t told.

Transparency matters.

At Whitewolf Crystals & Healing, I will ALWAYS do everything I can to source genuine, correctly identified crystals and minerals, and if something is man-made, treated, dyed, enhanced or otherwise altered I WILL TELL YOU.

I don’t want you buying something because I’ve given it a fancy name.
I want you buying it because you love it AND you know exactly what you’re paying for.

And while I’m on my soapbox… THE OVERPRICING NEEDS TO STOP TOO. 😡

I understand businesses have overheads. I have them too! Stock, rent, bills, wages, packaging, card fees — it all adds up.

But there is a difference between making a reasonable profit and putting an enormous markup on something simply because a customer doesn’t know what it costs to source.

WE WILL NEVER DO THAT.

💚 We will NEVER knowingly mislead you.
💚 We will NEVER intentionally pass resin or glass off as natural crystal.
💚 We will ALWAYS be transparent about what we’re selling to the best of our knowledge.
💚 And we will ALWAYS work hard to keep our prices fair and affordable.

That’s exactly why I spend so much time sourcing our stock.

Crystals should be something people can enjoy, collect, gift and fall in love with — they shouldn’t require you to have a huge bank balance or worry that you’ve been ripped off.

If I can source something at a fantastic price, I want that saving passed on to YOU.

I’m not interested in being the most expensive crystal shop.

I’m interested in being the shop where you can walk through the door knowing you’re going to be told what you’re actually buying and you’re going to pay a FAIR price for it. 🐺💚

Because whether you’re spending £5 or £500, you deserve honesty.
