Labradorite, opalite and sterling silver accent bead 27.5 inch mala with a 3 inch sky blue pure silk tassel. Weight 62 grammes.
Labradorite, famous for labradorescence, a brilliant irridescent flash of colours, such as gold, green, blue and purple, that shift in the light.
According to ancient Innuit fokelore, the Northern Lights were trapped inside a piece of labradorite until a wandering warrior struck the rock with his spear. This released most of the celestial light into the sky, but left the beautiful irridescence behind.
It is known in crystal healing for providing the resiliance and clarity needed to embrace change and release old habits.
Often worn as a shield, it guards against negative energy, psychic drains and environmental stress. Strongly linked to the third eye chakra, helping to awaken psychic abilities, clairvoyance and deep inner wisdom.
Labradorite is a mesmerising feldspar crystal, primarily known as the stone of magic and the stone of transformation.
Opalite, luminous and captivating, often called the Stone of Serenity, promotes emotional healing, soothes anxiety and enhances communication.
It stimulates the Crown and Third Eye chakras to elevate intuition and spiritual awareness. Opalite is also thought to stabilise mood swings, release energetic blockages and aid navigation through life transitions.
Aligning with the Throat chakra, opalite helps articulate thoughts and feelings with softness and clarity. Opalite is thought to unleash inner strength, foster self worth and encourages a playful and optimistic outlook.
Connected to higher consciousness, opalite placed under the pillow can ease transition between the waking and dreaming states. Use in meditation practices to strengthen the aura and set intentions.
The mala is used to aid in meditation practices using the traditional 108 beads, with a trio of flashy labradorite stones as the guru bead.
To use, set your intention or mantra, for example "I am at peace", or use a traditional mantra. Hold the mala in whichever hand is most comfortable, starting with the first bead next to the large guru bead, over your index or middle finger.
Use your thumb to pull each bead over your index or middle finger towards you, while you inhale and exhale fully and silently repeat your mantra or affirmation.
On reaching the large guru bead, don't go past the guru bead out of respect, flip the mala and repeat the meditation or affirmation action in the opposite direction.
