Hello and welcome to Southsea Sea Glass.
I have always had a passion for beach combing and collecting sea glass; I love how every piece has been uniquely tumbled and made tactile and opaque having been at the mercy of the sea over the years.
As such, every piece of glass has its own identity and properties, making each piece individually charming and imperfectly perfect. I think all of that is what really captivates me, and I still get a thrill finding my next piece.
Iβm lucky enough to live 5 minutes from Eastney Beach in Southsea, so I am on the beach most days with my two cheeky dogs, scouring the shoreline, but I also pick up glass from wherever Iβm lucky to be by the sea.
I have been diagnosed with Metastatic Breast Cancer. Itβs Stage 4 and therefore not curable, but Iβm living with cancer and all that that brings. Having this hobby has brought me so much joy over recent times as I can immerse myself in the process of making the jewellery from start to finish. I find it relaxing and mindful and this is exactly what I need right now. 10% of the sale price of each item will go directly to my chosen Breast Cancer Charity (indicated on each post) - one of the few charities which supports us forgotten and unseen people living with this cancer in the UK - of which there are around 60,000 people.
I am only able to make a handful of items which renders them ever much a more precious and unique. I only use Sterling Silver chains and decorative bails.
I find them beautiful in their simplicity and hope you will too.
Any questions - please ask.
Love and Light
