Sea pottery and ceramics are actually considered to be a man-made marine pollutants, so it can be freely removed from the beach. It's the same with sea glass.

You will often find me, down on the shore happily shoving these small, but perfectly formed treasures into any receptical I have to hand - often a dog poo bag 🙄🫤

A doubly satisfying pastime - clearing the beach and quenching my insatiable thirst to gather 'pretty things'.

I already had the beads. They've been sitting in my craft box for yonks, so I decided it was time I put them finally to good use. I've added the glass ones to compliment the ceramics. I'm really happy with the result.

Here they are then - some of my latest sea pottery earring designs, available now in my Etsy shop. Follow link and all that jazz.

I find all my sea pottery here in Cornwall along the shorelines. If only they could tell us their stories...

Each pair of earrings carries a litte snippet of Cornish history.

Not only were we treated to extraordinary weather last week, but we were also privileged to be entertained by a beautiful pod of dolphins 🐬

We chartered the Mollie May with skipper Rob, who took us out to a prime dolphin spotting location. The pod torpedoed towards us barely twenty minutes into the cruise and didn't leave us for almost two hours. There were around nine in all, of various sizes, from one very large one to two little ones who zoomed around together like twins.

The sun shone, and the sea was calm and silky, making this the perfect excursion. We were even able to take a picnic, literally the cherry on the cake.

I felt very emotional to visit these perfect creatures in their home - such an honour.

Do your bit to keep our waters pollution-free so that they can live long and healthy lives.

As a Plastic Free hero of Penzance, I decided it was appropriate to choose sea plastic as a medium for this project, and I've added some brass, nautical charms.

Some recent walks at Porthcurno and Porthgwerra. Two stunning locations.

Porthcurno is obviously home to the world-famous The Minack Theatre - the most beautiful open-air theatre in Cornwall. The Minack was carved out of the granite cliffs by Rowena Cade and opened in 1932.

Carpark, toilets and a cafe can be found in the cove.

We parked at Treen not far from the Logans Rock pub and walked to the cove and back along the coastal path. Met some happy little caterpillars along the way 🐛

Porthgwerra is a beautiful, secluded little cove with a slipway, caves, and a tunnel. The latter was dug by miners from St Just to allow access to the beach so that farmers could gather seaweed by horse and cart. The seaweed was then used as fertiliser.

But I like to pretend it was a smuggler's tunnel myself. Something not very romantic about fertiliser... 😉

There's also a tiny stone hut that serves cream teas and pasties to take away or relax in the little garden - toilets too!

It's been a beautiful Bank Holiday Monday here in Cornwall.

The sun has been shining all day, so a picnic at Nanjizal was decided. We took a different route to our usual one and made our way through the wildflower meadows that were bursting with colour and buzzing with life. Found a four leaf clover too - hope it brings us luck!🤞🍀

The sand at Nanjizal is coarse like powdered diamonds and the water is crystal clear turquoise. People were having a wonderful time swimming but still a bit too cold for me.

**TRIGGER WARNING**

Some viewers may find the state of my fingernails upsetting. I'd only just had some false ones removed, so I can only apologise for this offensive content!😜

So, a very rewarding scavenge at Werrytown this week. Including not one but two bottle bases. What are the chances? They'll need a bit of filing down, but one might make a nice chunky pendant. We shall see.

Found some luuurvly pieces of blue glass, a nugget of purest green, a bottle stopper, some pottery, and what I think may be a leg of a china horse ornament.

There are people out there who collect seaglass in a special, beach combing reseptical. A container that reflects the significance of the activity and makes everything just feel nice.

But alas not me.

A dog poo bag was all I could lay my hands on this week. It did the job, I guess...

Love the blue wire octopus. He's definitely going to be used in a necklace of some description.

I started the afternoon off with a coffee at The Old Coastguardldcoastguardhotel in Mousehole before heading to the beach for some combing.

I found a pre-drilled piece of glass that will save me time and effort when making it into a pendant - very handy!

I then went on to find some beautiful bits of pottery, bright blue sea plastic, the stem of a glass bottle stopper, and a diamond-shaped piece. Gorgeous!

Ended the afternoon with a pint and a chowder in the Ship Inn Mousehole which was superb.

Lots of spring flowers blooming at Kenidjack Valley - a steep-sided, historic mining valley not far from St. Just and Cape Cornwall.

As part of the Cornish Mining World Heritage Site, it features ruined engine houses, the Tregeseal River, and rugged, wild coastal scenery.

Cute donkey on route too.
