Rebecca Oxenham Jewellery

Rebecca Oxenham Jewellery Rebecca Oxenham jewellery inspired by the wild Cornish coast and woodland. Silver clay and silversmithing workshops and classes in Cornwall.

Hello, my name is Rebecca, and I am the designer, maker and silver clay tutor behind Rebecca Oxenham Jewellery. I set up Rebecca Oxenham Jewellery back in 2020 after being made redundant from my job. At the time I was off work ill with what I was told was a viral infection which then later was diagnosed as Long Covid which caused me chronic fatigue. Unable to work full time I decided to turn what

had been my hobby and side hustle into my business. This was a difficult time for me, not only because of my poor health with an unknown illness but because the country was in chaos with the pandemic. Making jewellery and being in nature was my therapy. I have since made a full and moved to Cornwall in 2024 and have never looked back. I love nothing more to be out walking my dog (Milo) on the beautiful Cornish beaches and in the surrounding countryside close to my home in Tywardreath near Fowey.

I love to share my passion for jewellery making so I extended what I do to run regular beginners’ silver clay and silversmithing jewellery making workshops and experience days late in 2020. I also designed a beautiful kit for people to make their own jewellery using silver clay at home which has been a best seller and featured on Steph’s Packed Lunch on Channel 4.

In addition to my self learning I studied for my Art Clay Diploma level 1 and 2 Certification in Silver Clay (an eco-friendly way to make fine silver jewellery). This is a world-wide, recognised qualification, administered by the official distributors of Art Clay in Europe. I am also an instructor member of AMCAW (Association of Metal Clay Artists Worldwide) and I am a member of GOJD (Guild of Jewellery Designers) and ACJ (Association of Contemporary Jewellers).

Every piece of jewellery is lovingly handcrafted using recycled silver. It is important to me that my impact upon the environment from which I draw my inspiration is not overly impacted by my actions. Therefore, alongside using recycled precious metals and responsibly sourced gemstones, my packaging is also eco-friendly.

Thank you for taking the time to read about me. I would be only to pleased to hear from you if you have any comments or suggestions, or just want to talk about jewellery.

Inspired by the wild beauty of the Cornish coast, my sterling silver starfish pendants are little reminders of strength, healing, and renewal.

Starfish have the remarkable ability to regenerate and grow again after even the roughest storms — making them beautiful symbols of resilience and hope.

Both the delicate small starfish and the larger statement version are now available on my website, with the larger pendant finally back in stock ✨

Cast from real starfish in recycled sterling silver, each piece captures every tiny natural texture and detail of these extraordinary sea creatures.

Perfect for sea lovers, nature lovers, Cornwall lovers, and anyone who feels most at home by the water 🌊

Available now via my website.

Yesterday’s woodland-inspired jewellery workshop was such a pleasure. A lovely group spent the day creating unique pendants and earrings by moulding and casting treasures gathered from nature.

Fern fronds, a budded magnolia twig, tiny daisies, acorns, leaves and even sea shells were transformed into delicate pieces of jewellery, each one capturing the intricate details and character of the original natural form.

It’s always fascinating to see how the same process produces such different results, with every piece reflecting the maker’s own eye for beauty and connection to the natural world.

Thank you to everyone who joined me and made the day so enjoyable. The finished pieces are absolutely beautiful. ✨

There’s something so special about making jewellery slowly, by hand, surrounded by the wild beauty of Cornwall 🌿✨

My May and June workshops are now fully booked, with just *one final space remaining* on Saturday 27th June for my Woodland Botanical Silver Clay Workshop — where you can create your own pendant or pair of drop earrings inspired by leaves, textures and natural forms.

As we move into July, August and September, I’ve released a smaller selection of scheduled workshops while Cornwall settles into the busy summer season — but I’ll still be offering private workshops and 1:1 jewellery experiences from my studio in Tywardreath.

These workshops are designed to be calm, creative days filled with texture, nature, silver, good conversation and plenty of personal guidance. Whether you’re visiting Cornwall this summer or local to the area, they’re a chance to slow down and create something meaningful with your hands.

Expect:
✨ Nature-inspired silver jewellery
✨ Small intimate classes
✨ Beautiful Cornish surroundings
✨ A relaxed and welcoming atmosphere

July, August & September workshops are now open to book.

If you’ve been thinking about joining me, now is the perfect time 🌿

Days like this make me feel very lucky to call Cornwall home ☀️

Blue skies, sunlight dancing across the water, and that familiar feeling of the sea stretching endlessly into the horizon. There’s something about the Cornish coast that seems to slow time for a moment - salt in the air, warm light on the cliffs, and the sea changing colour with every passing cloud.

These little moments always find their way into my work somehow. The textures, colours and treasures washed ashore all begin here.

Cornwall has a way of capturing your heart and never quite giving it back 💙

Jewellery making changed my life in ways I never expected. ✨

For nearly thirty years, I worked in marketing, living a very different kind of life to the one I live now. Then everything shifted unexpectedly. After being made redundant while also struggling with Long Covid, I found myself at a point where I needed to slow down and rebuild quietly.

During that time, jewellery making became far more than a creative hobby. It became a lifeline.

I first discovered silver clay while living in Southampton, and there was something deeply healing about working with my hands again — shaping silver slowly, noticing texture, creating something meaningful from something so small. In a world that suddenly felt uncertain and overwhelming, making jewellery brought moments of calm, focus and purpose back into my days.

Nearly three years ago, I moved to Cornwall, and the landscape here completely deepened my connection to creativity. So many of my pieces are now inspired by the woodland paths, tangled hedgerows and coastline surrounding my home in Tywardreath. Nature has become part of the making process itself.

What started as a quiet form of healing slowly became a business, a new path and a completely different way of life.

Now I spend my days creating jewellery inspired by Cornwall and teaching others the magic of transforming soft clay into solid silver. One of the loveliest parts is seeing students experience that same sense of calm, creativity and pride when they realise they’ve made something beautiful with their own hands.

I still feel incredibly grateful that something which began during such a difficult chapter became the beginning of something so meaningful. 🌿

My Silver Clay Jewellery Making Kits and Torch Firing Kits are finally back in stock ✨

These kits were originally created during lockdown, at a time when so many of us were searching for comfort, creativity and connection from home. Jewellery making became a lifeline for many people — a chance to slow down, work with your hands and create something meaningful during an uncertain time.

What began as a way of making silver clay jewellery more accessible from home has since introduced hundreds of people to the quiet magic of transforming soft clay into real fine silver jewellery.

Beautifully presented and designed especially for beginners, the starter kit contains everything needed to create your own silver pendant or earrings from home, alongside a detailed step-by-step booklet filled with photographs and guidance. No experience is needed — just curiosity, creativity and a little time for yourself.

Carefully wrapped in beautiful eco-friendly packaging, the kits also make a thoughtful and meaningful gift for creative loved ones, nature lovers or anyone who would enjoy learning a new skill and creating something with their own hands.

As seen on Channel 4’s Steph’s Packed Lunch, these kits have become the beginning of many people’s silver clay journeys — whether around a kitchen table, during a quiet weekend, or gifted to someone special.

For those wanting even more control and professional results, the Torch Firing Kit was created as the perfect companion, allowing you to fire your silver clay pieces with greater precision and achieve beautifully polished fine silver jewellery at home.

Thoughtfully designed with sustainability in mind, both kits are packaged using recyclable and biodegradable materials.

I still feel incredibly grateful each time one of these kits heads out into the world, knowing it may become part of someone else’s creative story too. 🌿

Just ONE space remains on my Beginner Silver Clay Jewellery Workshop with 24K Gold Plating on Wednesday 28th May ✨🌿

Held in my small home studio in the Cornish countryside, this relaxed, beginner-friendly workshop is a chance to spend a creative day learning the magical process of transforming silver clay into beautiful fine silver jewellery, before adding luxurious touches of 24K gold.

Most students choose to create pieces inspired by nature — delicate silver acorns with glowing golden seeds or tiny daisies with rich gold centres are always favourites. 🌼✨

With only a handful of students, there is plenty of individual guidance throughout the day, making it perfect for complete beginners or anyone wanting a mindful, creative escape.

The workshop includes:
• 99.9% fine silver clay (solid fine silver)
• 24K gold plating
• Use of all tools and materials
• Cream tea & Prosecco to celebrate your creations 🥂

If you can’t make the May date, I’m also running this workshop again on 20th June.

Message me or book via the website if you’d like the final place ✨

Here in Cornwall, the hedgerows and woodland paths are now lush with unfurling ferns, their fresh green fronds catching the soft sea air and early summer light. 🌿

There is something ancient and quietly magical about them. Dating back to prehistoric times, the fern is one of the oldest plants on earth and, unlike most plants, it carries no seed. Woven through folklore for centuries, ferns were once believed to offer protection from witches and evil spirits, with shepherds in Brittany and Normandy crafting crosses from fern fronds to watch over themselves and their flocks.

Today, the fern remains a beautiful symbol of longevity, humility, new beginnings and good fortune.

Like a whispered little message from nature, these Fern Leaf Drop Earrings are designed to be worn as tiny amulets for luck, protection and renewal.

Each pair has been cast from real fern leaves, preserving every delicate vein and detail in recycled sterling silver. The drops measure approximately 4cm long, with the fern itself around 3cm. They also come with a beautiful intention notelet sharing the symbolism behind the fern.

My jewellery is deeply inspired by the wild Cornish countryside surrounding my home — from winding coastal paths to tangled hedgerows — and is thoughtfully handcrafted using recycled 925 sterling silver. ✨

Yesterday’s full-day Sea Glass Stone Setting Workshop 💚🌊

A busy day in the studio creating sea glass jewellery and learning stone setting techniques. Some of yesterday’s makers were feeling ambitious and took on setting two stones, which meant lots of extra soldering, shaping and finishing work — but the results were amazing✨

I always enjoy seeing how different each piece becomes and how much confidence grows throughout the day. Swipe through for some photos of some of the beautiful pieces created.

Interested in joining a future workshop? Keep an eye out for upcoming dates or send me a message for more information.

A little piece of Cornwall, shaped by tide and time.

This silver whelk pendant holds the ancient spiral — a symbol whispered through myth and sea lore. Said to echo the rhythm of the sea itself, the spiral speaks of journeys taken, paths returning, and the quiet pull of something older than memory.

Along the Cornish coast, whelk shells are carried in on the tide, holding stories of deep water, salt winds, and the wild edges of the coast.

Available at the Old Bank Gallery in Fowey, Bodmin Art Gallery, or through my website.
