Holidaying with teenagers is definitely a different kind of holiday… but I think this might just be my favourite stage yet.

They’re independent enough to do their own thing, old enough to appreciate a good restaurant, and thankfully happy to sleep in while I enjoy a quiet coffee and a slow morning!

But the best bit? Having them with us, watching them become their own people, and getting to hang out together without all the little ones needing us every five minutes.

I came home feeling like I’d actually had a holiday too — and that feels like a bit of a win.

If you are a parent of teenagers what would you add then?

☀️ Some of my favourite moments on holiday aren’t the big ones.

They’re these quiet ones.

The pool is still. The coffee is hot … and three teenagers are asleep after wandering in sometime around 4am. 😂

I love the chaos they all bring. I love that they’re making memories with their friends. I love hearing them laugh until their stomachs hurt. But this little pocket of peace before they wake up? I treasure it ❤️

It’s funny how, as they get older, you stop wishing for the noise to disappear… you just learn to appreciate the silence when it arrives. Anyone else with me? 🥰

🍑 Apricot and Almond Torte 🍑

I always forget how much I love this one… it’s so simple to make but looks like a real showstopper ✨

A soft almond sponge, juicy apricots and that little glaze on top — honestly, it’s delicious!

And if apricots aren’t your thing ( I know many of you are not fans from my stories! ) peaches work just as beautifully too 🍑

Perfect with a cuppa or a dollop of cream

👋🏼 Petition to normalise the single-shot post. It’s 36 degrees, my brain has melted, and I simply do not have the energy to do anything else. Who is with me?! 😫

And if you’ve zoomed in and noticed the socks by the door, congratulations, you’ve found the natural habitat of the teenage sock. Weirdly allergic to both feet and laundry baskets. Who else has picked up enough pairs to set up a small branch for Sports Direct this week 🤣
