The HARMAN EZ-35 is a 35mm reusable film camera with motorized load, frame advance and rewind functionality making it the ideal camera for anyone starting out in film photography or those looking for a simple point and shoot option to capture their world.

With a ‘focus free’, 31mm, f/11 lens, this excellent, environmentally friendly alternative to single use cameras works with all brands of both black & white and colour film (ISO 400 recommended). It includes a built-in flash with 15 seconds recycle time for indoor or trickier lighting conditions as well a lens cover / shutter lock to ensure you don’t waste a shot. The box contains everything you need to immediately start shooting Including 1 roll of ILFORD HP5 Plus 35mm 36 exposure black & white film, one of the world’s most iconic and popular films, as well as a standard AA battery and a wrist strap.

We introduce you to some of the faces behind our films as we visit various parts of our factory to see how 120 and 35mm black and white films are made.

From emulsion making, R&D and coating to finishing, quality control, warehousing and distribution, for the first time ever we are officially taking you behind the scenes to show how your favourite analogue products end up in the hands of photographers and darkroom printers all over the world.

Stunning results in HARMAN technology ‘Pretty Ugly’ student photography competition

HARMAN technology announce the winners of their 2016 UK Student Competition ‘Pretty Ugly’.

With almost 1000 entries, from schools, colleges and universities across the country, the 2016 competition witnessed an exceptionally high standard of darkroom printing which took several rounds of judging and plenty of debate before the winning images were selected.

The standard was so high this year that the judges have also awarded an additional three images as highly commended along with the overall winner and runner up.

The title of ‘HARMAN technology Student Photographer of the Year 2016’ is awarded to Keith Barlow from Burton and South Derbyshire College for his print entitled ‘No Wine for you!’ Keith receives £100 of product of his choice from www.harmanexpress.com along with his winning image professionally mounted and framed by ILFORD LAB DIRECT.

CheukTing Wong from King’s Ely School was awarded the Runner up prize for his image ‘Central Hong Kong’. While, Ffion Fox and James Aitken from Coleg Sir Gar and Abdul Shafi from Leicester College all submitted highly commended images.
Cardinal Newman College took the college prize of £125 to spend on www.harmanepress.com for submitting the most eligible entries.
Matt Parry, Marketing Manager at HARMAN technology said, “The interpretation of the Pretty Ugly theme has shown the creativity, originality and application of students and tutors right across the country. The quality of entries has once again made the judging a fun but challenging task however Keith's winner was a standout favourite amongst the judges. It is a superb example of street photography with the expression, posture and positioning of the man in a hard hat adding real character to the shot.”

We had a great time judging our UK student competition last week.

The standard of entries was really high in both categories and with nearly 1000 entries judging was really tough.

We'll be announcing the winners soon, once we have completed all checks and verifications
