Further East

Further East The most innovative travel event in APAC 🌏
4 - 7 November 2024 in Seminyak, Bali. Spanning more than 15,000km, from Turkey to the Pacific Islands, Asia is vast.

Otherwise, catch us 365 days a year in
linktr.ee/FurtherEast2024 CEO and Founder of This is Beyond, Serge Dive – creator of PURE Life Experiences, LE Miami and We Are Africa – launched the industry’s first travel trade marketplace dedicated to inbound Asian high-end travel titled ‘Further East’ in 2018. Yet despite its vast array of cultures and landscapes, its breadth of histori

cal context and its billions of habitants, there’s a special harmony that connects the continent; a shared charm grounded in warmth and ritual – chaotic yet deliberate, genuine yet mystical.

“For years the conversation in luxury travel has been about outbound high-net-worth Asian travellers. Meanwhile, the mystical allure of this incredible continent and the increasing desire among high-net-worth consumers – both Asian and from across the globe – to travel to and around Asia has been too long ignored”, says Dive. Complementing This is Beyond’s portfolio of exclusive, niche-luxury travel trade marketplaces, Further East is an invitation-only, one-stop-shop for travel tastemakers, including specialist corporate and leisure buyers and international travel press, to discover a highly curated cross-section of Asian high-end travel product ranging from the bold and contemporary, to the traditional and awe-inspiring, to the wondrous and remote – all the way from Oman to Japan, India to Indonesia. In 2021 Further East expanded to include the entire APAC region, showcasing an even broader range of high-end travel product. The next edition of Further East will take place 7-10 November 2022 in Seminyak, Bali.

Going Further means giving back in Bali 💚 Last year on the first morning of FE, we took around two dozen delegates to Bagi Bagi Nasi Community Kitchen for our Community Project 🫶

Under the guidance of Nick from the our delegates helped cook and pack food for some of the island’s most vulnerable children.

Together we learned about the finer points of Ragam’s social impact whilst rustling up some much-needed meals 🍳 💚

We loved it. And in November, we’re saving an apron for you again... Look out for more info on our 2026 Community Project, launching for sign-ups later in June! Go Further. Give back 👌

Consider this a Bali golden hour appreciation post 🌅😌

Once the meetings wrap up, our Sunset Sessions take over: shoes off, drinks in hand, music up, and networking becomes poolside chats.

Here’s a glimpse into our favourite time of day 📸🍹🌊🎧🌴… because where better to find your next APAC connection?

Further East, on the move! 🌍🇿🇦

Our Buyer Programme Executive, Beatriz, has been in Cape Town for , our trade-show cousin that defines its own exceptional regional market.

Throughout the week, she’s shook hands with Africa’s leading travel innovators 🤝 Learning everything she can about how WAA’s community helps them provide deeper, truer, more diverse experiences on the continent and beyond.

There’s also been some familiar faces too, and Bea has loved catching up with a number of our global buyers that we’ll be welcoming to Bali in November 🤗

What a pleasure to meet you all!

A refreshing approach to networking at FE 🥥😋

When our delegates wanted a break in the heat last year, we had coconut drinks on hand, helping them cool off before their next connections.

Kudos to for partnering with us on these fine pick-me-ups🥤

What’ll be new at FE this year? We’ve got more partners incoming...

FE’s Guide To: Japan 🇯🇵

Ever taken a Tokyo train? You might’ve noticed music playing when the doors close 🎶 In 1989, keyboardist Minoru Mukaiya created it for Japan’s eastern rail network, to soothe busy journeys. And when we keep an ear to the ground, Japan always surprises us…

Today we’re delving deeper into a nation built on curation and refinement – qualities we emulate when selecting The Inner Circle.

Since we’ve started with the capital, let’s stay there. Few cities pack the aesthetic punch of Tokyo 👊😍 It has a huge population, yet still manages to be a visual treat – packed with gardens, arcades, fountains and fizzing neon.

FE ‘26 exhibitor is an iconic hotel beside Tokyo Tower. A few kilometres north, you’ll find more city heritage in a room at the which serves a cocktail inspired by its own red brick first laid in 1912.

Even the passage of time in Japan is marked with subtlety. Their calendar holds 72 micro-seasons lasting several days, bearing names like ‘distant thunder’ and ‘frogs start singing.’ Choose a voyage on to cross the western, eastern or central strait between the main islands of Honshu and Shikoku, touring as much as you can in a dynamic climate.

Another fleeting pleasure is the swirl of cherry blossoms. They bloom for just two weeks and are influencing more high-end travel packages in Japan, giving special access to views, picnics and boat rides beneath nature’s confetti 🌸

Indoors, the Japanese love of aesthetic naturalism takes further root. During the Edo period, shogunate rulers prohibited any trade to other countries – sparking an early nationwide love of recycling. That spirit is alive in – an old sugar-and-rice storehouse restored with wood and washi paper.

We could keep talking about Japan forever… But it’s only part of the Asia-Pacific conversation at Further East this year 🤝 All of the businesses we’ve mentioned will be there. Will you? Save this post and say hi to them at the show 📌

A look back on our 2025 edition of Open House at Further East 📸💡

The next AI evolution. Rethinking Asia-Pacific’s lifestyle economy. How to smash online success — without going viral. Last year was stacked with excellent content, delivered by geniuses in APAC travel 🧠💪

We made sure there was plenty to do away from the stage too, such as trying arak cocktails, sampling live cooking stations in the evening, and joining a traditional Balinese music performance. All of which made your conversations even better.

We can’t wait to share what’s on the agenda for Open House 2026 soon…👀 Expect more colour, creativity and community inspiration.

FE’s Guide to: Malaysia 🇲🇾

In Malaysia, big is especially beautiful. It’s home to the world’s largest flower, Rafflesia arnoldii, which blooms for a week in the rainy season, even generating heat to attract pollinators 🌺🔥

Malaysia’s attraction doesn’t stop there. The country is full of grand claims to fame. We’re here to help you find them…

Did you know that Malaysia has most of the planet beat for tall buildings? In Kuala Lumpur, six buildings top 300 metres 🏙️ A room at , opening later this year, welcomes you amongst the soaring city lights.

Out of the metropolis, there’s the ocean to explore. A day’s sailing on the Andaman Sea brings you to South Asia’s only active volcano, dormant for 200 years before erupting in 1991 🌋 Head back to for a coastal stay with its own irrepressible spirit.

The island of Langkawi is also known for its natural bounties. Spectacled monkeys and flying lemurs can be seen in the trees. is a rainforest retreat with its own golf course nestled between the calls of primates. Their four-pillar model keeps sustainability on track 🌱

Over towards – a collection of villas recently voted the top Malaysian resort by DestinAsian readers for 2026. The Seven Wells Waterfall is a local icon, rumoured to bathe faeries and restore your health 🧚‍♂️ Climb 300 steps for an unbelievable canopy view.

Every traveller must experience Borneo, too – home of the orangutan and ancient forest that first grew 130 million years ago. are a fine partner for adventures through rivers, farmstays and the venerated Mulu Caves.

Save our Malaysian marvels for your next itinerary 👌 Or meet them on the Further East showfloor in November…
