Green Street Business Association is a non profit-making organisation run by the local business community, for the benefit of the owners of businesses on Green Street and all adjoining roads, their employees, customers and visitors. Our mission is to unite the whole shopping area as a world-class brand, raising its profile whilst keeping the rich variety of shopping experience offered by all commu

nities that contribute to the diversity of Green Street in Upton Park, east London. It is a non-religious, non-political organisation. GSBA seeks to gain maximum membership of traders on Green Street and the adjoining roads and will be their voice for communicating with the local council and central government agencies. It seeks to act as a medium for strategic development planning by the council whilst representing the interests of local businesses. It seeks to mediate with Newham council on issues such as parking, planning, enforcement and development issues. GSBA will keep members informed about issues affecting their business. It will look to government sources for grants and funding. These profits will be used for the benefit of the community. The directors are from the local business community, working on a voluntary basis. The decision making body will be part selected and part elected and will be representative from the Green Street and Boleyn wards. GSBA will seek to benefit businesses through events that bring more visitors to the area - through advertising campaigns, by branding and holding street events such as festivals. It will use its collective bargaining power to get traders cheaper services and supplies e.g. electricity, web services and advertising.
