I tend to leave my jewellery all over the place - the hall a favourite haunt - I know you will all be converting my mushroom more than the rings - it’s a contemporary of the cameo - dating from the 1950s - a rare French pharmaceutical model made of plaster and wood to identify poisonous mushrooms. I bought them many years ago ( yes I have set ) from the chic- est collector of fine vintage clothes and the occasional object . Do visit for rare, beautiful clothes and textiles, and if you’re in town, at Portobello on a Friday.

John Ruskin, wrote extensively on the impact of our visual surrounding, through objects, architecture and art. An artistic polymath, , he was a writer, lecturer, art historian, art critic, draughtsman and philanthropist of the Victorian era. He wrote on subjects as varied as art, architecture, political economy, education, museology, geology, botany, ornithology, literature, history, and myth but is most known for his thoughts on the impact of architecture and the legacy of the Ruskin College of drawing and Fine art at Oxford. In any case, I agree with him, good decoration uplifts and enriches the everyday and I think he would approve of the design and hand making of Ferian pieces in London.

The artistry of these tiny vintage Wedgwood masterpieces have been reframed in contemporary solid gold and silver settings designed by Ferian, allowing them to be admired and worn for generations.

The vintage Wedgwood cameos which have been collected over many years and date from the 1950s - 1980s. Each bas relief motif was hand applied by skilled potters at the Staffordshire pottery. No longer produced, there are very few in each design and when they leave our archive they can not be replenished.

Jasperware was the result of more than 5,000 tireless experiments undertaken over many years by Josiah Wedgwood. Developed by late 1774, Jasperware consists of a dense white stoneware which is permeated by coloured pigment.
