IWC TOP GUN “Lake Tahoe” ref. IW389105 - Custom piece

From time to time, we get involved in more personal projects with clients - this being one of them.

Based on the white ceramic Lake Tahoe, this piece takes direct inspiration from Ed Sheeran’s latest album Play and the one-of-one pink dial IWC created for him at launch.

Here, the standard Pilot layout is kept, but reworked through a pink ex*****on that changes quite a bit depending on the light, giving the watch a very different presence on the wrist.

Day-date at 3, subdials preserved, overall architecture untouched - the changes are visual, not structural.

One-off.

Patek Philippe Calatrava ref. 6119G-001

Introduced in 2021, the 6119 represents a quiet evolution of the Calatrava, one of Patek Philippe’s most established lines.

Presented with the calibre 30-255 PS, it moves away from the smaller movements used in earlier references.

The 38mm white gold case sits comfortably between traditional and contemporary sizing, giving the watch more presence while remaining true to the Calatrava identity.

A key detail is the Clous de Paris bezel, a signature element revisited here with sharper definition and more depth, especially noticeable in natural light.

The dial remains intentionally restrained, small seconds, no date, preserving the purity of the design.

Rolex Yacht-Master II ref. 116688-0002

The reference 116688 introduced the Yacht-Master II in 2007 as a dedicated regatta chronograph, rather than a general-purpose sports watch.

Housed in a 44 mm 18k yellow gold case, the watch was built around the calibre 4161, a movement developed specifically to power a programmable countdown timer for yacht racing. The countdown can be set between 1 and 10 minutes and mechanically synchronised mid-sequence.

The defining feature of the 116688 is its Ring Command bezel. Unlike a standard rotating bezel, it interacts directly with the movement, functioning as part of the setting system. It is one of the rare instances where Rolex integrates the bezel into the mechanical architecture of the watch itself.

The result is a highly specialised Rolex, purpose-built, mechanically distinct, and visually unapologetic.

Patek Philippe Nautilus Perpetual Calendar ref. 5740/1G
Patek Philippe
The reference 5740/1G marked a significant evolution within the Nautilus collection when it was introduced in 2018 — the first time Patek Philippe integrated a perpetual calendar into the design while preserving the model’s familiar silhouette.
Crafted exclusively in white gold, the watch maintains a case thickness of just 8.42 mm, an impressive feat made possible by the ultra-thin calibre 240 Q. Despite the mechanical complexity, the proportions remain balanced, allowing the 5740 to retain the discreet wrist presence long associated with the Nautilus.
What distinguishes the 5740 is the clarity with which it presents a traditionally dense complication. The blue dial organizes the perpetual calendar indications with notable restraint, avoiding the visual weight often seen in grand complications and reinforcing the reference’s quietly technical character.

IWC Big Pilot’s Chronograph “Le Petit Prince” ref. IW371807

The reference IW371807 belongs to IWC’s “Le Petit Prince” series, a line introduced to pay tribute to Antoine de Saint-Exupéry and his legacy as both aviator and author. While mechanically consistent with standard Big Pilot chronograph models, it is distinguished by a series of design and narrative elements unique to this edition.

What sets the IW371807 apart is its deep blue dial, exclusive to the “Le Petit Prince” line, subtly decorated with a star motif that becomes visible under changing light. This is paired with a solid caseback engraved with the Little Prince standing on his asteroid ; a detail reserved solely for these special editions and absent from regular production Big Pilots.

Gérald Genta Octo Bi-Retro ref. OBR.Y.50

Produced in the early 2000s under the Gérald Genta brand, it represents a moment when bold design and mechanical creativity were given absolute freedom ; long before the Octo became synonymous with ultra-thin minimalism under Bulgari.

This reference combines the signature Octo case in yellow gold with a bi-retrograde display: jumping hours, retrograde minutes and a sweeping retrograde date.
Inside sits an in-house automatic movement developed specifically for this display architecture, a reminder that Gérald Genta was never only about case design.

Placed next to later Octo designs under Bulgari, the contrast couldn’t be clearer. Where modern Octos focus on flatness, lightness, and restraint, the Bi-Retro is architectural and visually dense.

The OBR.Y.50 is not a watch that tries to blend in. It’s architectural, unapologetically mechanical, and rooted in a period when Gérald Genta watches were made for a small circle of collectors who valued originality over convention.
These watches were produced in very limited numbers, often in small batches.

Patek Philippe Aquanaut ref. 5167A-001

The reference 5167A-001 was introduced in 2007 as the direct successor to the Aquanaut 5065. While visually similar at a glance, it marked an important technical and proportional update for the line.
The case grew to 40.8 mm, the dial layout was refined with a date at 3 o’clock, and the watch received the calibre 324 SC, replacing the earlier calibre 315.
This upgrade brought a higher beat rate, improved winding efficiency and a longer service interval.

The composite strap is not rubber in the traditional sense, but a Patek-developed material resistant to UV exposure, salt water, and wear ; a detail often overlooked, but key to the reference’s long-term durability.
