FOR SALE - Antique Rembert B Wurlitzer Bowlback Mandolin (Circa 1890)

Beautifully crafted bowlback mandolin c.1890s, branded with RWB trademark ivoroid inset emblem.

Spruce top with maple binding, Mahogany bowl, Mahogany neck with Rosewood fretboard. Original tuners, ivoroid tuner buttons & tailpiece.

Condition as seen. No case or bag. ÂŁ150 open to offers & possible trades.

The next guitar surgery of 2026 will be Tuesday 16/06 10:30 - 12:30 at Crescendo Music Academy & Variations Dance Studio 160 George Lane, South Woodford, E18 1AY.

Do you have a guitar in need of a set up or repair?

I work on guitars, electrics & acoustics, basses, ukuleles, mandolins, violins, banjos cellos, quattros, guitaleles & other string instruments.

As before, I won’t be undertaking any work on the day, but will discuss anything that needs doing & make arrangements to book instruments in etc.

I offer a ÂŁ5 student discount off all setups & repairs. Valid student ID will need to to be produced to qualify.

This came in the other week, a Yamaha Pacifica with no output signal, stored in a shed for years, moved around continuously with the pickguard hanging off, not secured to the body.

At some point the owner had attempted to fix it, admitting soldering wasn’t his strong point, he reached a point where expectations exceeded experience, so it was abandoned & stored in a shed for years.

I don’t need to say anything, the pictures speak for themselves, zoom in & marvel.

The replacement volume pot has rusted, the output jackets have been snapped/cut too short to reach anything, the mass of excess solder has stopped any clear signal, there are other loose wires & no strap buttons, but that the least of the problems.

New volume pot, dismantle & rewire next. Update to follow. The owner didn’t want it cleaned or setup, just working.

Handmade & hand wired in the UK by me, individually numbered, diecast 1590B Aluminium enclosures, soft touch momentary footswitch, “XIII” Death tarot metal logo, no additional power required.

Instantly mute the signal when the switch is pressed, instantly back once released. Just press & hold the footswitch for the time you want it muted.

Use to create a stutter effect. If you want that kill switch/stutter effect without modifying your guitar, this is the pedal for you.

2005 Left handed Fender CD-100 on the bench for a clean, restring & setup, after sitting in a loft for 6 years.

Body wiped over & cleaned up, frets cleaned & polished, sharp ends dressed up the entire neck, fretboard cleaned & conditioned, tuners removed, checked, cleaned & oiled.

Neck relief checked & adjusted to remove excess, bridge cleaned & conditioned, nut checked, saddle height sanded down to help lower the action, bridge pins cleaned & final polish.

Restrung with Rotosound Strings JK11 Phosphor Bronze Light (.011-.052”).
