"Which is the watch that I liked the most in 2019? It is this extraordinary 18kt gold Rolex Submariner 1680, which by the way was also the one that most challenged me as a photographer. Being able to capture the different shades of blue and purple through a photograph was really a tough task! After several attempts I finally managed to faithfully reproduce the colors as they were live. Wow, what an amazing watch! " This was our photographer reply when he was asked which had been his favorite watch among those we traded in 2020. Well we cannot but agree with Luca, for sure one of the most fascinating timepieces we had last year. And yes, as usual a top-notch picture Luca, well done!

As per tradition, every beginning of the new year we ask our team members which is the watch we traded that impressed them the most. Obviously today it is .private turn who revealed to us that this very rare Longines is one of his favorite watches in 2020.
But let's hear directly Roberto's own words regarding this exceptional piece : "In today's market, finding watches which can satisfy collectors is an increasingly difficult task for watch dealers, especially timepieces of those of brands whose production was already quite limited at the time. This waterproof pump pushers Longines chronograph with a Sandwich dial is one of those cases where rarity and condition make a watch a true piece of art. The chance of handling and consequently delivering it in an important vintage watches collection was for sure of the most exciting moments in 2020 ".
Previosly unpublished on our social media platforms we are pretty sure that this tremendously appealing Longines will also be to the liking of our dear friends and followers.
because im the next days we will be publishing some other extraordinary watches that didn't make it on the website.

FOR SALE. The second series of Tudor chronographs was introduced in 1972 when the production of the so-called "Homeplate" first series references, the 7031 and 7032, definitively ceased.
The new Tudor chronographs, named 7149 7159 and 7169 depending on the type of bezel, were immediately a huge success becoming trough the years very appreciated by the vintage watches collecting community.
All 3 new references were available in 2 versions, one with a blue dial and the other gray, both very attractive for the interesting mix of colors.
A very unusual aesthetic that led collectors to nickname these new chronographs "Montecarlo" as the dials had a resemblance to the roulette tables of the famous casinos of Monte Carlo.
In addition to the aesthetic factors, Tudor also updates the caliber with a valid Valjoux 234.
The present Tudor Montecarlo Chronograph ref. 7159 is a great example of this very sought after reference.
In terms of conditions the watch remains in great overall conditions showing a fantastic all over matching vintage patina.
The most likely untouched case comes with sharp bevels and lugs, a crisp original bezel and an original USA riveted bracelet in very nice conditions.

A barn find in the automotive world is a vintage car rediscovered in original conditions after many years of storage. The term comes from their tendency to be found in places such as barns, sheds, carports and outbuildings where they remained for many years.
This term has recently begun to make its way even in the community of collectors of vintage watches. Being lucky enough to put into a collection a watch from the first owner in original untouched condition has therefore become a dream of many watch enthusiasts.
We definitely agree that finding a watch in a barn is most likely something impossible to happen, but yes in some extremely rare occasions not only cars, but also watches can be found in such a spectacular state of preservation.
Pictured as found before cleaning, glass changing and movement overhaul the present first owner Rolex Submariner 5513 Gilt dial from 1966 is an oustanding example of an extremely collectable watch in true barn find condition.

FOR SALE. The reference 1016 was one of the longest-lived models in the Rolex catalog.
Its production lasted almost 30 years, from the early 60s to about 1989.
In this long period the 1016 had several components modified such as the bracelet and the caliber.
The only thing that remained unchanged was the dial which has always kept the iconic Explorer configuration with the 3-6-9 luminescent indexes.
This specimen is a "L" Serial and belongs to one of the last production batches.
Preserved in amazing condition, never polished and still with the original sticker on the caseback.
