I am in awe of my people’s courage. Millions have risen again all over Iran to challenge a theocratic dictatorship that has devastated every aspect of their lives for 47 years. Unarmed civilians are standing up to a brutal regime armed to the teeth, bolstered by foreign mercenaries. A regime that, for decades, has fuelled terrorism across the Middle East and beyond.

We will reclaim our country from barbaric mullah and in doing so, make the world a safer place.

It was such a privilege to visit the British Museum before opening hours with fellow members and to see the extraordinary up close.

A special thank-you to Dr Rachel King, curator, who has spent six years studying and researching this remarkable piece. Hearing her insights brought the pendant’s history and symbolism to life in the most fascinating way.

And warm thanks to for organizing and sharing her wonderful knowledge as well.

This rare 16th-century jewel is an spectacular, heart-shaped gold pendant and chain linked to Henry VIII and Katherine of Aragon, discovered by a metal detectorist in 2019 and now the subject of a British Museum campaign to raise £3.5 million to keep it for the nation by April 2026. This intricate artifact features intertwined ‘H’ & ‘K’, Tudor roses, and a pomegranate (Katherine’s symbol) with the word tousiors (always), offering a unique glimpse into the royal couple’s early reign.

As a designer and gemologist, moments like this remind me why I fell in love with jewellery; the craftsmanship, the symbolism, and the stories that survive through centuries.I learnt so much today and was truly moved by the experience.
