This year has been tough as most of you know. My mum has been in hospital almost 4 months and spent 5 days in ICU where we nearly lost her 😢 - repeated falls, breaks, Covid, and repeated pnuemonia mean that she’s still not ready to come home 😢 I am an only child so it’s all on me but I am lucky to have support from my dad and amazing friends and boyfriend ♥️

Anyone that’s had any long-term experience with the NHS knows that although it a godsend, it’s also broken so you have to constantly push for tests, answers, the best care.

It’s really tiring.

I still teach and I am still making jewellery - but have to work within my capacity. This is why you won’t have seen me at markets much this year. Everything is too uncertain and I never know what mum’s health will bring next.

It’s been a long process getting back into creating again with the stress of my mum being sick but I am enjoying pouring my energy into making pretty, ancient-style pieces.

I’ve also discovered new chemical recipes so look out for new colours and textures emerging. This autumn it’s all about warm tones and rich gold hues…

So blessed to have this sycamore tree in my garden - yes it blocks the sun from 3pm onwards which can be frustrating during summer, but it’s absolutely ALIVE with birds, squirrels, bugs 🐛 This morning I could identify 4-5 different bird types by sound alone.

Since my mum went into hospital - still there now with Covid & pneumonia 😢- I have had to prioritise grounding myself in the mornings. Sitting in the garden or on my doorstep and listening to the birds with Onyx (he doesnt chase them as he can’t really see them!) resets my nervous system like nothing else.

I will always come back to this but nature truly heals!

We’re all so drained. Mum is sick as the whole elderly ward came down with Covid. There’s talk of putting her back into ICU (guessing for intense observations) but that’s not confirmed yet.

Well all just so tired.

Things that are helping right now…amazing friends and the best supportive boyfriend ever, ADHD medication and my naughty cat who wakes me up purring, head butting and biting me with his love. Daft sod.

Bumbling through life at the moment 😳

Mama Bear still in hospital and hopefully having her leg cast taken off today so she can start physio. Such a strong Yorkshire woman - love her to bits and her strength is an inspiration.

Titrating through ADHD medication and finding the balance between feeling like a disconnected depressed robot with no social skills and being productive, non-fatigued and still “myself”.

Life and medical admin on behalf of my mum (I am an only-child so it’s all on me).

Being the best partner I can be and being as present as I can be with my beautiful step-babes when I get the time to see them.

Keeping myself sane and looking forward to my sparkle returning to me one day.

This is why my tattoo journey has had to take a break. It’s just too much to take on a new additional path right now. I want to wait until things settle so I can give it my all ♥️ It’s still happening, the passion is still there 100% But my capacity has changed.

I shall be focusing my creative energy on my part time teaching job with the little artists and jewellery making on the run up to Christmas.

It’s been a mixed bag.

Back teaching this week and the universe has decided to give me razor blade throat pain before I’ve even made it to my first day back.

But the positives are that mum is still recovering well and my medication hasn’t made me grow an extra head or anything - in fact, I’ve even tidied up the garden and put some washing on so it might actually be working.
