Emma has continued to grow and thrive in her role, showing incredible commitment every step of the way. She has proven that transitioning from frontline support into management can be done successfully, while continuing to learn and develop each day.

What stands out most is Emma’s dedication to Brampton Lodge and the residents she supports. Her positive interactions never go unnoticed, and she is always willing to go above and beyond, whether that’s coming in early to help residents with their morning routines or offering encouragement and reassurance to those who know and trust her.

Emma brings warmth, positivity, and energy into the home every day, making a real difference to both residents and colleagues alike. Thank you Emma for everything you do.

This week at Anavo's Cochrane Care Home, the team had the pleasure of celebrating resident Bob’s 100th birthday! 🎉

Bob enjoyed breakfast with fellow residents before being presented with over 100 birthday cards from residents, staff, and families. The home were also honoured to welcome the Lord Lieutenant, who read a special letter from The King before everyone joined together to sing Happy Birthday.

The celebrations continued throughout the day with a special piper who piped in Bob’s birthday cake. On Monday, the Lord Provost’s understudy also visited, giving Bob the opportunity to wear the Chain of Office.

Happy 100th birthday, Bob! A huge thank you to the amazing Cochrane team for making the celebrations so special. ✨

Anavo's Wessex Lodge Nursing Home has launched 'Wessex in Bloom', a new gardening club designed to support resident wellbeing, encourage social connection and strengthen community engagement.

Residents recently partnered with volunteers from Whitchurch in Bloom to plant a variety of herbs, flowers, fruits and vegetables, creating a positive and collaborative experience for everyone involved.

Initiatives like this reflect our ongoing commitment to creating enriching environments where residents can stay connected to their local community while enjoying purposeful activities that support wellbeing and independence. This International Nurses Day, we’re proud to celebrate the incredible nurses across Anavo who make a difference every single day. ✨

We recently spoke with Murnila, Deputy Manager at Marlborough House Care Home, about her career journey and life moving from Malaysia to the UK after a difficult loss, and how she rebuilt both her life and career through care.

After more than 10 years working as a nurse in a fast paced hospital setting, Murnila made the decision to move to the UK and start a new chapter in care. Beginning as a Care Assistant while completing her NMC registration, she progressed to Nurse and then Deputy Manager in just a few short years.

Her story reflects the resilience, compassion and dedication so many international nurses bring to the care sector, alongside the meaningful relationships and opportunities that make a career in care so rewarding.

Our Home Manager Rui at Hailsham House Care Home will be taking part in the 10k Hailsham Community Run on Sunday 17th May to raise funds for a very special cause.

Rui is fundraising for a resident-led garden project to enhance the existing outdoor space, encouraging time outdoors, social connection and everyday enjoyment.

What makes this project so meaningful is that it has come directly from the residents, with a shared goal of creating a calming outdoor space they can truly enjoy and feel proud of.

Having previously raised funds for charities including St Wilfrid’s Hospice, Rui’s commitment to fundraising continues, always with residents and their wellbeing at the heart of everything he does.

Our Home Managers truly go the extra mile 💚 Hailsham House Home Manager Rui is taking on a 10km run to support his residents - wishing him the best of luck!

🏃‍♂️ Rui is Running 10km for the Residents of Hailsham House 🌿

Rui, the manager at Hailsham House Care Home, is taking on a 10km run as part of the Hailsham Community Run to support the residents.

Over the years, Rui has taken part in runs for different charities, including one earlier this year for St Wilfred's Hospice, but this time the cause is especially close to his heart. He is supporting the residents and activities team at Hailsham House with an exciting garden project.

The garden is a much loved space where residents can relax, socialise, and enjoy the outdoors. The aim is to make it even more welcoming and meaningful, helping to improve residents’ wellbeing and quality of life.

Hailsham House is very special to Rui, not just because he’s the manager, but because he genuinely loves the home and the people who live there. This run is his way of giving something back.
