Rachel Codd is inspired by classical poems and fairy tales, creating tactile and wearable porcelain jewellery with a deeper meaning and story to each and every piece. Passionate about drawing a little bit of fantasy from our classical inspirations and into each piece through the ornate detail and unusual nature of this practice. g vivid detail. Clear glazed for tactile functional pieces, and finished with a dash of gold lustre; that holds a subtle hint of more traditional jewellery within a fresh creative process. Our jewellery is the result of a desire to dedicatedly hand-made pieces that form a tactile narrative, adding a little more beauty into the world and inviting us to not just view it but also wear it and become a part of it.

Glaze firing unloading, lots of experimental glazes in this one so definitely a pretty mixed result! I’m going to re-fire a few with some different glazes to see how they respond. Let me know if you want to see how the second glaze firing turns out too 🔥

Mays Dragon, inspired by Emeralds and Lily of the valley 🌿 I’ve been looking forward to making this one for the last two months, since sketching out the design and immediately falling in love with her. It took a second lustre firing to get the green lustre right but she was definitely worth the time and effort ✨🐉 This one was snapped up this Thursday 💚

May Markets 🌿📚✨
Here’s where you can find me this coming month.
I’ll be for my usually first and second Saturday of the month markets and as usual I’ll be next Thursday, but then I’ll be back on 21st instead of the week after.
That’s because it’s time for annual Plant Fair! 🌱 I had a wonderful time last year so I’ve booked back in this year for this three day event in their beautiful gardens. If you’re local to Hereford I highly recommend it as a brilliant plant filled day out for a fantastic cause 🙌

Waterlily dragon, this one got snapped up at Mega Con last month. It’s super hard to catch in photos but all of the white ‘petal’ details are painted with mother of pearl lustre so a magical pearlescent finish ✨🪷
And if you’re waiting for my next dragon, I’ve got two in the kiln today that I’ll be adding gold lustre to this next week ✨🐉 Keep an eye on my stories over the next few days if you want a sneak peek.

I delivered some new stock to yesterday and finally got the chance to see and Nadia’s gorgeous shop open 💖 If you’re Cardiff local, pop in and see all the amazing locally made products they have from over 40 different artist and makers! 🙌🌱
Seeing what an awesome job they’ve done transforming this space into such a beautiful makers shop makes me so happy, particularly because it’s the very same unit that I ran a little Christmas pop-up shop from on December 9 years ago! It’s a very special space and I’m over the moon to see it finally become the wonderful shop if deserves to be and run by people who I just know are going to do amazing and make it a smashing success! 🎉💖

Aprils dragon; Sweetpea 🌱🌸 this beauty got snapped up but I still had to share her to my feed. She’s in inspired by Aprils flower sweetpea. And I tried to get a lot of movement into her form to mimic the flowing shape of sweetpea vines. Her headdress is inspired by flower petals, painted with amber lustre and a splash of 24ct gold lustre to the edges of the petals. She’s found a lovely home and I’m so happy to see in person the reaction my dragon sculptures get and getting to talk to people about dragons at markets 😊
