I have always been fascinated with Paper weights, I could never get my head around how they managed to get such magnificent patterns and colours into the center of clear glass. Welcome to our workshop 👋🏼

Most days you’ll find us at the torch, transforming glass rods into the beads that eventually become our jewellery.

Every bead is handmade, using traditional lampworking techniques.

And if you’ve ever fancied having a go yourself, we run beginner-friendly lampworking workshops where you can experience the magic of melting glass for yourself. 🔥

Glass rods back in their place. Tools tidied away. Benches swept clean. Torches switched off.

It’s not the most exciting part but there’s something satisfying about resetting the studio, ready to do it all again tomorrow.

A tidy studio, a fresh start, and a kiln full of beads waiting for the morning!

The moment of truth 👀

When we finish making a bead, it goes straight into the kiln. We can’t pick it up, inspect it, or properly admire it until the kiln has finished its cycle. So unloading the kiln the next day is always exciting.

Part relief, part anticipation and always a favourite moment in the workshop!

After annealing in the kiln, each bead is cleaned, checked and prepared before becoming jewellery.
