Happy 40th Christina!!

Hands up—who LOVES a piece of jewellery for a big birthday?! 🤍

This special ring for Christina was created using her inherited, unworn gold, sapphires, and diamonds. Being part of the design process meant she could truly shape something she’d adore and wear every day.✨

Her brief was beautifully clear: something low set, vintage in feel but not an engagement ring, and inspired by the Frangipani flower of Indonesia.

I completely fell in love with the double milgrain halo detail, and when the ring returned from the workshop… it did not disappoint ✨

A timeless, wearable piece with so much sentiment woven into it.

When a plan finally comes together...

Seeing my new engagement ring design sitting so perfectly together with my bespoke ring holder feels so good! 🥂

This truly feels like a match made in heaven and I love that my ring holder necklace feels like an extension of my ring design!

Ring holder necklaces are incredibly useful and clever but so often they are just plain functional pieces that don't reflect your ring or even function as a beautiful piece without your ring on it. Why should that be the case? If you are going to wear a necklace, it should reflect your style and be beautiful and functional in it's own right!

You’d think, as a jewellery designer, creating your own engagement ring would be easy… but honestly, it was one of the hardest things I’ve ever designed. 🤦‍♀️

I’m a perfectionist. Even when I know a piece is beautiful, I’ll still find something I could refine, adjust, or do differently. It’s definitely one of my flaws. 😄

So… why did I remake my engagement ring? Because the first time around, I forgot the core principle of my entire design process—I didn’t treat myself like a client.

A year later, I started again. And this time, I asked myself the same questions I ask everyone else:

✨ What style do I truly love?
✨ What feels most me?
✨ What do I want to wear forever?

The first ring was beautiful in its own way, but I spent far too much time thinking about what other people would like, rather than what I loved. I chose platinum because Jonny proposed with a silver ring, and added baguette diamonds for that art deco feel… even though, truthfully, baguette diamonds have never really been me. ✨

Deep down, I’ve always loved pieces that feel vintage with an edge—ethereal, organic, dreamy. I’ve always been drawn to three-stone designs, and yellow gold has always suited me far more naturally.

So this time, I stopped designing for everyone else, and designed for me.

And the result? I absolutely adore it. More importantly, I no longer care whether everyone else does too—and that’s such a freeing feeling.

A little lesson, both for myself and anyone on a bespoke journey: follow your heart. Don’t overthink it, don’t ask too many opinions, and don’t wait for everyone else to love it too. 🩷

Because your engagement ring isn’t about anyone else. It’s about you 🥰

My ring holder pendant 🥰

I am someone who takes off her engagement ring A LOT - to wash up, clean, put makeup on, sleep, work…honestly, the list goes on.

So creating a ring holder pendant felt like something I genuinely needed. A special piece for my 40th birthday, designed not only to safely hold my rings, but to feel beautiful in its own right too. 💍

I wanted something elegant and flowing, designed specifically so my ring would sit flat and comfortably - not like the generic base metal versions you often see. Something timeless, sentimental and perfectly matched to my own jewellery style 🤍

I even reused the baguette diamonds from my original engagement ring because, for me, any opportunity to upcycle sentimental stones is always worth taking.
