Ark Jewellery offers stunning handmade jewellery with a commitment to ethical production. Kristina Smith, founder, and designer is based in Kent and uses recycled or fair-trade materials with sustainable histories to produce limited edition artisan jewellery that she hopes will be passed down generations. Kristina loves exploring the boundaries of what we can do that are perceived as precious, mix

ing unusual materials such as wood and fine metals, incorporating gemstones into designs that are elegantly inspired by the fragility and beauty of nature. The collections are influenced by travel, culture and symbols transferring her stories, feelings and experiences into the jewellery pieces she creates. All the packaging is also sustainable, ensuring the minimisation of any carbon footprint created by the production of the jewellery.

One May weekend visited our shop .

Rebecca was immediately drawn to a pair of our blue sapphire and aquamarine mismatched earrings. As it turns out, they weren’t just a beautiful find—they were destiny!

She chose them specifically for her upcoming book launch, “Lochbound.” For a story centered around mermaids, we couldn’t think of a more perfect “ocean-inspired” match. 🌊💙

The book is on its way and I can’t wait to read it !

Not surprisingly one of the most popular purchases at our shop .heritage are pearl necklaces in unusual shapes such as these organic white glowing rice pearls.

There are so many different shades, shapes and colours. Our pearl necklaces are always aim to create a distinctive look introducing different colours such as grey or peacock or purple. Adding beads that break up and give the pearl necklace a more decorated and stronger look.

Memories in Metal 🦋✨
This piece is so much more than a brooch; it’s a time capsule from my university days. At first glance, it’s a delicate butterfly, but look a little closer and you’ll find a wide-eyed, big-teary monster looking back at you! 👹💧

This was the “Project of Firsts” for me. It’s the piece where I pushed my limits and dove headfirst into a world of new techniques:
• Engraving the fine details.
• Inserting silver elements into the main body.
• Enamelling and experimenting with Cloisonné.
• Mastering Cabochon settings for that perfect glow.

Does it look a little raw in some places? Absolutely. But every “imperfection” is a reminder of the steep learning curve and the passion of a student finding their voice. It’s a piece I could truly never put a price on. ❤️
