Let’s get stuck in! On the bench is this beautiful 1977 Technics SL-1410 in great cosmetic condition but not functioning. The complicated semi auto return mechanism and 46 year old electronic components need a good overhaul before we bring this stunner back to life!

My wife asked me for a simple setup for her office. Using my fathers turntable as a base, it received a full service to bring it back to good mechanical order before sticker bombing the plinth for a rad look 🤙🏼 Finished up with a Ortofon period cartridge the turntable is good for years to come. Paired with a fully serviced and repaired Technics receiver and some Celestion speakers this system looks and sounds amazing.

Where it all began. In 2019 my father asked me if I wanted his old turntable before it went into the bin. After initially saying no, my wife convinced me it might be fun to embrace the old school! Several years and many £££ later I’m fairly sure she regrets that decision, I however do not. With a background of electronics and a global pandemic I suddenly had lots of free time on my hands. I soon found a love for repairing and servicing vintage hifi equipment. Now with a loft stacked with far more equipment than I could ever need and a record habit that almost cost me a kidney it’s time to offer my services to all of you!
