I think this is my new favourite workshop! 🐚
Yesterday we have such a fun day turning our favourite seashells in to silver jewellery. We spent time looking at everyone’s collection of shells and learnt how to make our own mould to re-use at home. We shared our moulds and each made a set of silver versions using silver clay. After learning how to hand-fire our silver clay we turned them in to jewellery.

Today I’ve been working on some more samples for my new wax carving workshop. Come and learn how to carve and build-up wax. We can then send your designs for casting in your metal of choice and I can either finish and polish them for you, or you can come back and learn how to do it yourself.
The first workshop is on Thursday 26th March from 9am-3pm at Falmouth.

Why I’ve been so quite on here…
Two studio moves, loads of fully booked workshops, bespoke jewellery orders, teaching new workshops, making my own branded aprons, going to meetings when every road is flooded, recycling silver, first pieces of red seaglass, new bench at home, seaglass hunting, living and planning new things. As well as attempting to build a new website.

Welcome to those of you who are new here. I am Laura of Porth Jewellery and now also

I design and make jewellery as well as teaching jewellery workshops and courses in Falmouth, Cornwall. Find me at the beach hammering silver on the granite rocks or in the summer running jewellery workshops at Boardmasters where I get to share my love with hundreds of people.

As part of a team member for the wonderful Makers Cornwall I am late to the February challenge game but have me and a cuppa to introduce myself.

Today the light towards the Lizard was beautiful and I have had a lovely calm afternoon making wreaths. I may have got carried away using up all of the flowers I have grown and dried this year!
