I thought I’d do a wee introduction after a recent flurry of followers 👋
Hello! I’m Katie, a silversmith and jeweller creating thoughtfully handcrafted pieces that tell detailed, illustrative stories of nature in silver, inspired by the landscapes of Scotland.
I tend to include hidden details in my work whether that be tiny insects illustrated on the inside of a box or leaves scattered on the base of a cup - with layered textures, gemstones, and touches of gold that bring each scene to life. I love making pieces full of detail so you spot something new every time you look.
I’ve recently been exploring new ideas and materials (lately wood, copper patination, and more sculptural objects), but with chasing and repoussé at the heart of what I do.
I’m based in the Scottish Borders at within , where I manage the workshop and work alongside a brilliant creative community.
I run chasing and repoussé classes, build collections for exhibitions through the year as well as work on commissions from you lovely lot!
So grateful to be doing what I love, even if it’s a bit of a rollercoaster! 💛
