reat Grandfather's wedding ring...
..Ernest Alfred William Beaumont, my Great Grandfather, fought in the trenches during the First World War, never parted from his beloved wedding ring, which I now wear to this day some 25 years later. As my Nana handed me this golden ring my eyes wandered to a box on the table beside us containing a selection of very old and tatty watches. I remember being completely drawn to this box, and once the emotions of being handed down this very sentimental ring had settled, I made a point of rummaging through this weird & wonderful collection of watches. It was at that moment I became infatuated with timepieces. I started tinkering with low end watches; the movements, straps, cases, dials & hands etc. I remember the very first time I decided to delve into a 17 Jewel manual winding movement just to see what was involved. Suffice to say back then I wish I hadn't started.... However, the more I looked at these components the more fascinated I became. I was so intrigued at all the parts used in what's now considered a very basic type of movement. My Father has always said to me I have a very good eye and my attention to detail has served me well over the years. Perhaps a little OCD some might say, but I like things to be just so. What can I say, it's the Virgo in me! I take pride in the way I look and present myself, albeit officiating at football matches, popping to the shops or attending a formal event, and I believe there is a watch out there to fit every occasion. Without giving you my life story, the rest is basically history. I have been collecting, repairing and designing watches over many years and so it comes to pass that I have now created my own brand in 'Beau Daniels'. As I look back and reflect, wishing I had started this many years ago, but as we all know, sometimes life can get in the way and obstruct our visions & dreams. Then Covid happened… A Worldwide Pandemic changing the world as we knew it and giving me the time to get back to following my dreams.
