Dead Good Jewellery

Turning all manner of flora and fauna into beautiful one of a kind jewellery and accessories since 2011. All specimens seen in my work have died of natural causes or they are victims of roadkill accidents. I recycle bones from roadkill and clean them myself, as well as collect dead insects from windowsills , im always out and about foraging and you can even find me bottom's up in a skip from time

to time. I have a deep respect and appreciation for nature, i preserve the beauty in things which otherwise would be discarded or left to rot. My pieces celebrate the loveliness that you find in the great outdoors, and capture the spirit of the great English woodlands and moorlands. We have for the most part lost our day-to-day connection both with the natural environment and the creatures there in. It is my belief that we have a deeper connection with nature that can never be broken. Our ancestors often wore jewellery made from bones, crystals, rocks , shells, wood etc as a way to be connected to the spirits of animals, and to simply adorn oneself , so by carrying on the tradition of primitive adornments it surely makes a magical bridge that connects us to those that once roamed and made us who we are now . i hope that my work gives the wearer a magical sense of connection to nature and ancestral energy. As well as simple bone pieces, A lot of my pieces are made with non toxic eco resin and clay with organic components encapsulated inside. I have also started the alchemy that is copper electroforming. Whether it is naturally deceased creatures, shells, plants, flowers, or minerals I make a wide range of pieces that are all absolutely unique - i.e. every single piece is handmade by me and so a ‘one-off’ every time.
