Perfect find on the beach today, sea glass pieces were few and far between but this one is a beauty and perfectly shaped for setting in silver

I definitely need some more practice setting sea glass into silver, but this piece here is now my motivation

Natural sea glass has been tumbled by the sea and the shores over many years…

You can buy “sea glass” but often it’s been man made (even when it claims to be genuine), it can still be beautiful but for me it has to be natural, and knowing it’s spent many years being transformed, and carrying it’s own story, that’s what makes it special and unique

So that’s a wrap on the Jewellery Diploma with Jessica Rose | Jewellers Academy 🤍

I had a little time today before final submission and so was pleased to manage to squeeze in this granulation piece.

Granulation (those balls!), is an ancient technique from 4500 - 5000 years ago - and I just think thats amazing to be learning it now. It’s fun and frustrating in equal measure! Very satisfying when it works out 🙌

All my final term work will be posted off tomorrow, it’s been a brilliant challenge this past year, I’m looking forward to a little break and then bringing some of these new skills to life
