From blue butterflies to blue flowers... They seem to do especially well in the Arctic. Here are some from my recent visit to Tromso Botanical Gardens. I don't remember the name of the first species (let me know if you do), though the others are Meconopsis (Himalayan Poppy) and Gentian.

I find these blues so spiritual and other-worldly. On earth, yet relatively rare in nature. 💙

A memory of a floaty fluttering of iridescent blue in the Peruvian jungle... Was it a Blue Morpho that I saw? Which species could it have been?*

What are your most memorable bat memories? Mine include a dusk outing to Hanningfield Reservoir, Essex, with my family, years ago, to spot the little Pipistrelles and comparatively large Noctules (largest UK bat species). I also remember all the gnats and other little insects on the car windscreen as we drove there, something we don't see so much of these days. As British bats eat these insects, I wonder how they're getting enough food...

Several years later, an early evening walk in a Sydney Park, a whole camp of fruit bats in a tree! There are around 180 species of fruit bat, so not sure which these were. These are also known as Old World Bats and are believed to date back 35 million years.

I like it that a group of bats can be referred to as a colony, a cauldron, a camp or a cloud. Take your pick!

Another one of these Onyx & Sterling Silver Pendants sold today. Onyx is a stone of 7th anniversaries of any kind, Leo Zodiac Sign ♌️, and in crystal healing believed to enhance intuition and deep analysis. It is a chalcedony quartz, belonging to a group of gems in a variety of hues which were loved in jewellery in antiquity, as they are in the present.

Welcome to the page of Amanda Tamsin! Here you will find links to our website and posts about a variety of beautiful and elegant pieces, along with updates on new items. The jewellery that you will find includes stylish solid 925 sterling silver jewellery with semi-precious stones such as sparkling garnet, gorgeous red coral and mysterious black onyx… Some of these solid silver designs are timeless classics and others are more contemporary – all are lovely.

Then we also have a variety of vibrant and fresh fashion designs, often with paua shell and enamel. Some are whimsical and based on nature, others include well-loved, ‘can’t-go-wrong’ themes such as hearts. All these fashion designs are plated in hard-wearing and hypo-allergenic rhodium amalgam and stud earrings have stainless steel posts.

Our pieces of jewellery make great presents for those who are special to you, though you might wish to treat yourself! Every one of our items will be packaged in either a padded gift box or a pretty silver gift bag.
