My name is Maija and I am the artist behind Carnelian Bay. My inspiration comes from the beauty and textures found in nature. Many of my fine silver pieces of jewellery have been been printed with real leaves, capturing the stunning textures we so often take for granted. Some of my pieces have been textured using leaves picked in California where I lived for four years. The name Carnelian Bay hail

s from a stunning bay in Lake Tahoe I visited on many occasion during my time there. But others are leaves picked along the way - perhaps on may way to pick up my children from school, or coming back from the supermarket. Yes, natures beauty really is all around, whether you live in the countryside or an urban area.
