Our Story

We are husband and wife team, Ned and Marianna du Maurier Browning. We live in beautiful West Dorset with our two children, May and Daisy, and bold Jack Russell, Chip. Ned is Daphne du Maurier’s grandson. Du Maurier Watches is the result of our shared passion for beautiful designs and of watches in particular. We started our company in 2012 with just two models, the ‘Maxim’ and ‘Rebecca’. The design for these was inspired by the famous protagonists of Daphne du Maurier’s novel, ‘Rebecca’. We love classic, clean lines in our designs and endeavour to stay true to our personal taste, whilst enjoying the inspiration available through these wonderful characters. We are lucky to have Ned’s amazing family heritage to draw on for our design inspiration and have discovered some interesting stories along the way. All of our watches have a story of their own, including some you may not expect! Our company ethos is to produce luxury watches and offer them at a fair, affordable price. We are very proud to say that all of our pieces are certified Swiss-Made. Neither have we compromised on the quality of our materials: the Rebecca boasts 12 full cut diamonds and mother of pearl, whilst the steel we use across the collections is 316L surgical grade steel. In addition, every watch is completed with sapphire glass to ensure it remains scratch free and looking like new for years to come. Customer service is also key to the overall vision. Many of our customers now feel more like friends and we work very hard to look after each and every one of you. We love what we do and hope you do too. So, a very warm welcome to Du Maurier Watches!
