If you've crossed to Arran on the CalMac ferry, gone out on the deck and watched the water darken as you get further out, (or any scottish island) you will have seen this gorgeous colour.

Ive had these beautiful grandidierite stones for a few years now, I fell in love with that deep Atlantic ocean colour, they kind of feel like 'home'...do you know what I mean?

The setting is in my 'Reef' style, the clustered silver is a nod to Lophelia pertusa and one of the most extraordinary things in our waters.

I have these two pieces, both one offs which ive not listed yet. So message me if you'd like to know more.

Most of my work comes from direct experience. The sea I've dived, hills I've climbed, coasts I've walked.
The Iconic Isles collection is a bit different. Some of these islands are still on my to-do list and Hoy is one of them.
Hoy is the wildest of the Orkney Isles. Sea cliffs that drop straight to the Atlantic, deep glens, moorland that stretches further than you expect from an island this size. The Old Man of Hoy stands offshore, a 137 metre sea stack. Still there after everything the Scottish weather has thrown at it. At its heart stands Ward Hill, the highest point in Orkney at 481 metres.

Hoy is one island that refuses to be ordinary, or so Ive heard. 😉
The contours are real on this necklace, just tiny. The pendant is the actual shape of the island too.
The Hoy pendant is available in the Iconic Isles collection on my website. Link in bio.

A dead cat shark, a brick wall and a prawn head with excellent bone structure. That's how this snorkel started. 😆

This is where every jewellery collection or piece begins - outdoors, on Arran, noticing things most people walk straight past. A silversmith's eye is a terrible affliction... You can't switch it off. 😉

Brick bangles, dead shark earrings and prawn pendants coming soon. 😜😆

I was feeling a bit flat today, if I'm honest...then I found this.
Filmed on a sunny walk along Blackwaterfoot beach a while back, and it reminded me....

This business started at a kitchen table with a handful of tools. Now there's a website full of collections, over 100 pieces, and you lot here, people who don't even know me, supporting something they just... get.

I know it's not your everyday pretty jewellery. But you understand what goes into it, and I'm more grateful for that than I can say.

Sometimes you just need to look back to see how far you've actually come.

GOATFELL • Arran's tallest summit, and usually where locals head when they need to get up high and leave the day behind.

It's alot ofpeople's first proper 'HILL' hill on the island. Kids do it as a rite of passage. Runners do it before breakfast. Some of us just need some space or social time with friends and there's nothing quite like 874 metres of granite and open sky to clear the head and take the load from your shoulders.

The Goatfell and the Sea necklace is made in sterling silver on the Isle of Arran, for anyone whose relationship with this mountain is personal. The summit you grew up climbing, or the one you keep going back to
She's on the website now.

If you're out making the most of this gorgeous sunshine today, Bay Wool and Crafts in Whiting Bay is well worth a wander in.

I have a small selection of pieces in there right now - the Isle of Jura and Islay pendants, Goat Fell and Holy Isle necklaces, the thistle and heather pendants, and a few of the dewdrops pieces (necklace, ring and earrings).

They're all sitting at last year's prices, so if anything has been on your wishlist, now's a good moment.

The shop is full of beautiful work made by people on this island, and the staff are genuinely lovely. Worth going in just for that.

Pop in, have a browse, say hello from me.

Sea or mountains? Most people have an answer without even thinking about it.
⛰️The 'Apex' necklace is all summit: geometric, angular, two peaks side by side.
🌊The 'Maerl' necklace is all sea floor: organic in shape and form.
So summit or sea...Which calls you?
These pieces are shown in 9ct gold vermeil on sterling silver. Also available in plain sterling silver.
I will be listing them on the website soon, but if you're interested, DM me or email me.

IONA ~ is partly formed from Lewisian gneiss, some of the oldest rock in Europe. Around three billion years old. The abbey came much later. St Columba later still. But the feeling that something is different there...That might be older than all of it.
The Celts had a name for it. A thin place. Somewhere the distance between here and whatever lies beyond feels closer than it should..

Here's lovely wearing my Iona necklace, part of her explorations in the Scottish outdoors and connections with nature. Thanks for the photos Carly!!! ❤️

This pendant holds the topography of Iona. Every contour mapped, every coastline in silver.
Part of the Iconic Isles collection. Link in bio.
