Family Gold Bracelet, from Father to Son
Ryan had his Dad’s bracelet, his father – Kenneth wanted him to have this and enjoy wearing it. Ryan liked the patterned links but wanted to change the ID part.

He made an appointment with Louise at our Shaftesbury Design Studio to talk about his gents family gold bracelet. He wanted to ask Louise if it was possible to melt the solid ID part and make more links with the gold.

During their conversation, Ryan explained that he worked for a charity in Africa that re-homes elephants who can’t be looked after as pets anymore. Louise couldn’t resist taking before and after photos with one of the wooden elephants from our Design Studio!

Mark is our Master Caster, so this job was one he would take charge of.

Mark removed two whole links from the gents family gold bracelet and attached them to a silver rod. The rod called ‘The Sprue’ and the links are called ‘The Master’. Mark placed the master links and sprue inside of some yellow rubber and heated it until it melted. Once the rubber mould had cooled, he carefully cut it open with a scalpel and released the master and sprue from inside.

The rubber is put back together, then melted blue wax is squirted inside, this cools and is then carefully removed. The wax link is an exact copy of the original gold link.

Forever Bracelets do not have a clasp, they are welded on. We do offer this with a lobster style clasp if you would prefer this option.

You do need to come and see us to have your Forever Bracelet attached, this is a quick process of fusing one link together to create a bracelet that you wear always.

Welding your bracelet on is free of charge, you do need to make an appointment to come and see us for this to be done. You can book in to do this here 👇🏻

In the future we can remove your Forever Bracelet (for example, for a planned surgery) if you would like us to, or you can simply cut through it with sharp steel scissors. After removal, we can re-weld your bracelet onto your wrist, or we can add a clasp if you would like us to.

These bracelets come in 7.5 inches long, or 8.5 inches long (our most popular length) or 9.5 inches long.

You choose any engraving that you would like, on the inside or on the outside of our silver engraving ring. Vertical engraving means one letter on top of the next one, so it is read downwards.

This ring is available in 4mm wide or 6mm wide and finger sizes J to Z+3.

We offer different Engraving Fonts for you to choose from.

You can have any engraving that you like.

Laser engraving offers you the ultimate precision and detail, we can offer; fingerprints, handwriting, your actual pet paws, transcript of heart beats and spoken words. Any text, symbol, family crest or graphic.

Your engraving can be evenly spaced around your bangle, or just take up part of it, please let us know this in the text box.

Following on from yesterday, it was a complete delight to welcome Anne back to our Design Studio to collect her finished family heirloom. She also collected the family gold that wasn’t used in this piece.

Anne’s gold ring was given a full UK hallmark at Birmingham Assay Office. This includes the King Charles ||| stamp, the 250 years’ celebrating Birmingham Assay Office crown, and our Honour logo.

Louise loves the history that a full set of hallmarks brings to a piece, she always includes the celebratory marks, as well as the compulsory hallmarks.

Five Generations in One Ring

Anne’s bespoke creation began with a lovely pile of diamonds and some family birthstones! She had some family gold from past generations that she wanted made into a new bespoke gold family birthstones ring.

Anne wanted a bespoke ring designed and made using her own sentimental gold, she wanted it set with new diamonds and birthstones, representing her family members.

She made an appointment and visited our Shaftesbury Design Studio to discuss ideas with Louise. Anne and her husband often holiday on cruise ships, Jeff was keen for Anne to have a statement piece to take with her.

Louise gathered a selection of birthstones and sat with Anne whilst she hand picked the ones that she liked the best. They discussed different shapes and cuts of gemstones and decided on round brilliant cut diamonds and marquis cut birthstones.

Anne wanted birthstones for herself, her husband Jeff, her son and her daughter. The five diamonds represent her grandchildren. Anne chose pink Garnet for January over red because she felt that this particular colour sat with her other family birthstones better. She chose a bright blue Aquamarine for March, a mid green Emerald for May, and a rich purple Tanzanite for December.

Louise talked through a few different gemstone layouts and Anne chose the one that she liked the best. Anne liked the idea of a flower design with the gemstones as the petals.

We created two different CAD images for her to view; based upon the stone layout she had chosen. CAD is a powerful computer program that allows us to create jewellery designs and show photo-realistic images to our customers. Changes to designs can easily be made, before any precious metals are cast.

Anne will be wearing this show-stopper on cruise ships around the world – so elegance was key to her design!

It was the second design that Anne liked the best, using small claws to hold the outer round diamonds in gold petals – that mirrored the shape of the marquise birthstones she had chosen.

Louise was keen to add some outer leaves to this design, as she felt this would soften the design slightly. After a quick sketch to illustrate where these would go, Anne agreed that this addition would look good.

Our anxiety spinner ring, textured in silver!!

Our clever design allows you to spin and play with your textured middle band. Perfect for stressful meetings, upcoming exams, or feelings of anxiety.

We have designed this with people who bite their nails or pick the skin on their fingers, in mind.

Mark makes the wide flat inner band first, you are welcome to try this on before your ring is fully assembled, to check it fits well (we can post this to you if your not local). It’s much easier to size just the middle band than the finished ring.

Two outer bands and the middle spinning band sit on top of the inner band.

Mark textures the middle band for a sparkly finish, and to make spinning it slightly sensory.

The first outer band is soldered into place on one side of the wide flat band.

The middle spinning band floats over the top so it can spin.

And the third outer band is also soldered into place on the other side of the wide flat band.

The trick is not to not let the solder run underneath the middle band, if this happens then it won’t spin at all!!

We can post a finger gauge to you to measure your finger size if you are unsure what size fits you.

You can also choose between our sterling silver little stars and moons, these can be hand stamped with a family members initial.

We can hand stamp any initial onto any of our silver stars or moons.
