Maisiemoon and Me began in 2008, although I (Becky) had been in the event decor industry for over 12 years. I had taken a break from the business when my boss decided to sell up and move abroad. One of the jobs i had managed to get in the mean time to tide me over until i found another job was being a fairy in the forest (yes really) with my husband (Eric Elvis Edward the elf the third), working f
or the forestry commission to entertain nursery school children when they came to pick up their christmas tree, teaching them about the forest, where their tree comes from and generally frothing them up into a christmas frenzie. My husband suggested that I made some wreaths and decorations along with a few handmade gifts to sell while we were there. So we tried.....it was a roaring success, then whilst on the stall that december, one customer who loved my work asked me "you don't do weddings do you?", to which mum jumped in and bigged my work up so much...i got the job there and then, and Maisiemoon and Me was born. Since then we have gone from strength to strength, covering everything from decor to lighting to catering (yes we even do catering) to hiring out our vast vintage tea cup collection, and this year launched our new range of alternative non-flower bouquets made from brooches, beads, feathers...the list goes on. Every season coming up with exciting new ideas and winning prizes for our work. Also this new year we will be sharing our vast knowledge of the events and wedding industry by holding DIY wedding courses for people who want to make her day more personal as well as save themselves some money by learning how to do it themselves. This will consist of courses on decor, flowers, stationery, favours as well as design and how to organise your big day without frying your brain. All can be done individually or as one whole weekend residential course. But you will still always find us every year in Tyrebagger forest for the whole of December selling our beautiful wreaths, garlands and handmade gifts and decorations.....and if your very good and look very hard....you might even see the faerie and the Elf!!
