A bag with a heart & a conscience ❤️
EVERYONE who knows me knows how long I’ve been searching for the perfect red handbag! I have left NO stone unturned!

I’ve been particularly obsessed with finding the perfect red Chanel bag, fortunately, that has so far eluded me!

Recently, I happened upon the perfect Spring red bag, in the right size, with the perfect length strap, so I can wear it as a cross-body or a shoulder bag - & I went for it!

A well cut costume & a simple shirt is all you really need for a day at the beach.
The costume was an emergency buy at the hotel ‘boutique’ last year, however, the style & Spring colour was worth the investment.

The over-sized shirt works with all my Spring-coloured costumes, & doesn’t mind being shoved in my bag at the pool or the beach 😊

It’s a look that will work for almost anyone; if you haven’t already, try it.

Ready for date night… 🥂
I found this red top last week in Massimo Dutti in Madrid, & finally found a way to wear these shorts that I’ve had for over a year!

I stupidly bought the matching waistcoat, which doesn’t suit me at all - a styling fail that I was struggling to see past.

Tip: if you are between sizes in shorts, consider sizing up for your holidays; worry about what you’ve eaten when you get home 😉

Back home after a Personal Shop on King’s Road 🛍️🛍️🛍️
When I dress to take someone for a Personal Shop in London, I usually plan my outfit from my feet up!

Every shop is tailored to each clients’ needs, however, they usually all require me to run around!

Whatever season, if you’re running around, you get hot! If it’s winter, I’ll have a coat too! So, fine layers of natural fabrics are critical to staying ‘fragrant’ 🌼

This is me ⬆️ after a recent shop in Rixo’s brand new flagship store on King’s Road - obvs we also popped into the best Zara in London in Duke of York Square!

This outfit lasted from 9-5 on a gorgeous sunny day, & could have easily gone on for a cheeky cocktail!🍸

💫 Next time you are going on a ‘mission-shop’, consider how many times you are going to get dressed & undressed! Ditch big jumpers & static hair, loads of buttons, laces, tucks & general frou-frou! Keep your styling natural, simple & comfortable - your feet will thank you! 😀

Let the pattern do the talking 💚
Choose your pattern carefully & it will do most of the work for you!

✨ Size of pattern is key. Ask a friend: do they see the pattern before they see you?

✨ Colour is critical! The pattern may not be all your best colours, but when you stand back, is it predominately in your colour palette?

💡A quick tip is to check the background colour; for example, if you have a warm skin tone, look for cream, ivory, peach or coral tones. If you are cool, look for colours like black, white or dark navy.

✨ The right size pattern, in the right colours, in the right STYLE, & in the right place, can draw attention to or from areas of your body.

💡For example, if you are pear-shaped, you might consider block colour on your bottom half & wearing a bold pattern on top - strawberry shapes would wear this combo the opposite way around.

🫣 The final photo is an example of me getting it COMPLETELY WRONG!! This was two years ago at our Personal Styling course - spot the two tutors getting it right! ✅

💫 The point is, there are simple things we can all do to look better & feel more confident in our personal style.

Feathers, fizz & dancing 💃🏽🥂
I could write ten pages on finding a ball dress, however, here are my top tips:

✨ Check the invitation: ‘Black Tie’ usually means full-length dresses for the ladies.

✨ Start looking early!! Most dresses will be online only & will need some form of alteration, which can take 7-10 days.

✨ Rental is great for a cocktail dress, or if you are 5’9”+, but you can’t alter the length of a dress, so no good for a gown for me at 5’6”.

✨ Really think about what style is going to suit your shape & show off your best bits!

✨ Ditch black & wear your best colours! You’ll glow! 💙

✨ Going bold with feathers, sequins or pattern? Keep accessories simple - you don’t need to wear all your baubles at once 🎄

✨ If it feels too tight at home, imagine what it will feel like after a meal & fizz when you hit the dance floor 🫢

✨ Shape-wear is your friend! Aim for a smooth silhouette & buy a size up, rather than risk unwanted bulges! If possible, it should go up to your bra & down to your thighs.

✨ Can barely walk across your bedroom in your heels without wincing, don’t wear them out of the house! Be kind to yourself & invest in a wearable metallic shoe that will go with all of your dresses! I’m a Spring so gold will go with all my clothes & my skin tone.

✨ Finally, don’t panic! Everyone else is worrying about what they look like & did they get it right. Glide in with your smooth, big-girl pants on & your gorgeous smile, & you’ll have a great night! 😊

I feel like I’m coming out of hibernation! 😀☀️
Sunshine on Easter Sunday meant emergency epilation of my ‘winter coat’, & ditching my jeans in favour of a summery dress for a family lunch & river stroll in beautiful Marlow.

Fitting that it should be the last dress I bought in the summer from Spring colours, empire-shape (perfect for gliding over lumps & bumps), & so comfortable with a pair of trainers & denim jacket! ✅

We are flying home after a lovely holiday, realising that the weather has probably changed now it’s September & we are heading into autumn… 🍂🍁

I am definitely going to miss wearing some of my bright summer clothes from my Spring palette, like this green dress from Zara 💚

Kids back to school on Tuesday & Wednesday, so time for me to get back to work! See you there! 📆
