Presenting the X4009 DNA Edition Series

The X4009 Series is crafted from Mk1a Spitfire aircraft X4009, flown by Australian ace Paterson Clarence Hughes during the Battle of Britain. Credited with up to 17 victories during this pivotal moment, Hughes is remembered as one of WWII’s greatest unsung heroes.

Each timepiece incorporates aluminum from the fuselage and sales directly support the X4009 Spitfire’s restoration fund.

REC Watches presents: The P/1001 Watch, crafted with authentic material from the 1965 Mk1 Ford GT40 that competed at Le Mans.

The P/1001 watch features tachymeter scales crafted from repurposed aluminium coolant pipes sourced from the iconic Ford GT40 chassis P/1001, which is why the watch carries the P/1001 name.

The 40mm vintage-inspired watch houses the Swiss REC – 5100M manual-winding flyback chronograph, with a 63-hour power reserve and decorated bridges visible through its exhibition caseback.

The GT40 has always been a dream project for us. At REC, we exist at the intersection of two worlds: the love and nerdiness for iconic vehicles, and the passion for watches.

Naturally, the GT40 has been at the top of our wish list for years.

Sitting down with the owner of GT40 chassis P/1001 was incredible. We already loved the general GT40 story, but we were blown away by the history of his specific car. And before we knew it, the P/1001 project was born.
