A Letter to Fans from Baceda Jewelry:
Our company was established in January 2015, with our brand registered successively in Hong Kong and Singapore.
Our brand philosophy is: 100% quality, honoring commitments, and embodying nobility and elegance.
The jewelry appraisal institutions we work with meet the following standards:
1. Compliance with Accreditation Requirements:
The institutions are authorized by the Guangdong Provincial Administration for Market Regulation as provincial-level jewelry and accessory quality inspection and testing bodies (Authorization No.: 282419010283).
Their testing procedures and certificate labeling strictly adhere to national standards (GB/T 16552-2017 and GB/T 16553-2017).
2. Technical Authority:
The testing teams are composed of nationally certified Jewelry and Jade Quality Inspectors (CGC), Fellows of the Gemmological Association of Great Britain (FGA), and certified experts from the China University of Geosciences (GIC).
Their equipment is on par with that used in the laboratories of GIC’s Jewelry College (such as infrared spectrometers and X-ray fluorescence spectrometers).
Our sales markets are all located outside Mainland China.
To provide a better experience for buyers from various countries, we have invested in higher costs to issue certificates in English.
Regarding our certificates, we would like to provide the following clarification:
1. Chinese Standards Practice:
According to the appraisal certificates issued by the Jewelry College of the China University of Geosciences (GIC) (see sample in Figure 1), “Natural Diamond” is clearly marked.
The standard referenced is GB/T 16552-2017, which specifies that the “natural” designation applies to gemstones that have not undergone any artificial treatment.
As the highest academic authority in China’s jewelry testing field, GIC’s certificates are widely recognized by leading brands such as Chow Tai F**k and Lao Feng Xiang, as well as national quality inspection authorities.
2. International Standards Support:
Certificates issued by the GRS Laboratory in Switzerland (an appraisal partner of Christie’s and Sotheby’s) similarly label gemstones as “Natural Sapphire,” and include the note “No indication of thermal treatment” (see sample in Figure 2).
In international standards, the logic for distinguishing the “Natural” label and treatment descriptions (such as “Heat Treated”) is entirely consistent with domestic standards.
The “natural” label is a scientific conclusion based on laboratory testing, not a marketing term.
We urge the public to view differences in standards rationally, and to replace malicious speculation with technical dialogue.
The authoritative consensus between China University of Geosciences (GIC) and GRS demonstrates that “Science knows no borders, and integrity offers no shortcuts.”
Legal Position:
Recently, some false and misleading statements have been made, constituting commercial defamation as defined under Article 14 of the Anti-Unfair Competition Law.
We have engaged Guangdong Xinshi Law Firm to preserve relevant evidence and reserve the right to pursue civil damages and criminal liability.
We will defend the dignity of the industry through technical evidence and respond to baseless defamation with facts.
