MPH-Charms

MPH-Charms is a collection of one-of-a-kind handmade jewelry, accessories and deco by Minna Heikkilä. Creating art is my escape to a magical world.

A world where hours just fly away and everything shines in a special way. Everything has a just little bit bit of magical dust and shimmer in it. I try to bring some of this magic to you in my creations. It brings great joy to be able turn everyday objects into something beautiful. It is very important to me to find ways give a new life to discarded or unnoticed objects, breathe them back to life,

to recycle and upcycle things. Reduce the waste. I do my art on old discarded LPs, CDs, porcelain tiles, upcycle old leather jacket into jewelry and collect pebbles to pour on by the river.

Sustainability and durability is essential to me. To ensure the maximum durability, I use only professional grade components, if I cannot produce them myself. I try to avoid using metal components, so that I can keep my designs as hypoallergenic as possible. I want to make sure, that if you choose to adopt one of my creations, it will accompany you for a long time.

More new arrivals in my collection: paper decoupages. This delicate one-of-kind fairy has six layers of colored craft paper, one layer iridescent cellophane. All neatly enclosed in A4 passepartout with protective layer on the the image.

I’m finally back after long time of contemplating, reinventing myself and preparing. Now it is exactly one month to go until so I want to show you something new.

This Shadowbox luminaire is called „Pessi“ and it is a second part of my duo lanterns to accompany „Illusia“ you’ve seen before.

Finnish author Yrjö Kokko’s most famous fairy tale „Pessi and Illusia“ tells us a story of a friendship and love between goblin boy Pessi and fairy Illusia, dwellers of two separate worlds; night and day. I wanted to integrate to this Shadowbox some of the melancholy and of longing for something beyond one’s reach, but also hope and light. Pessi is seen in the twilight sunset time, whereas Illusia finds herself in the time of early sunrise.

„Pessi“ is one-of-a-kind piece and definitely the one of the most complex of all my paper cut creations so far.

20x25cm 3D deep frame with 7 layers of 160g cardstock, cellophane, and 4 layers of diffusion and color foils.

Pessi has an iridescent color shifting shield, which changes color depending on your viewing angle.
