Cedar bark weaivng has been part of the culture of the peoples of the Northwest Coast for thousands of years; it was and continues to be an integral part of the culture. The process is deeply spiritual: beginning with an offering of to***co to give thanks to the tree for its offering, she then strips, soaks, and prepares the bark to be woven. You can find woven bracelets, earrings and baskets offered by Nalaga Designs, created locally and harvested sustainably.
