When two worlds collide and make an even better one.

My art practice looks very différente these days, but I wouldn't have it any other way.

Dumplings are found in almost every culture. Their origin stories often speak of healing — of providing warmth in unbearable cold, of nourishment during scarcity, of care offered hand-to-hand. Over time they have come to hold a different but equally powerful role: comfort, nostalgia, and continuity. Families pass down recipes, folding techniques, and subtle variations that rarely make it onto paper. The knowledge lives instead in muscle memory — in the way fingers learn how much pressure to apply, how thin to roll the dough, how to seal an edge so it holds.

This participatory invitation asks you to pause and consider whether dumplings have a place in your own history. Perhaps they do — a family recipe, a holiday ritual, a scent that brings you back to a childhood kitchen. And if they do not, what might a dumpling look like if they did? What shape would comfort take? What folds would represent gathering, warmth, or hope?

Join me Sat Feb 28th 12-2pm in the gallery and we'll make some things together.

around the kitchen table: crafting connections

This exhibition explores making as a language — how care, memory, and connection are passed through our hands, often without words. Rooted in dumpling-making and shared kitchen rituals, the work reflects on the quiet, powerful ways we communicate through gesture, repetition, and touch.

Feb 26th 6-8pm - join me at the opening
Feb 28th 12-2pm - take part in a hands-on making experience
Feb 26 - April 23 - come spend some time at the table

Around the Kitchen Table: Crafting Connection
February 26-April 23
Craft Council of BC (Granville Island)
Opening Reception Feb 26th 6-8pm

This exhibition explores dumplings as symbols of connection, care and memory - small packets shaped by hand and shared across culture. Through jewellery, clay and participatory making, the work reflects on how our hands become a language, passing between generations without words.
