Art in the Park Toronto

Art in the Park Toronto Art in the Park Toronto is a free drop-in event taking place at various parks throughout the city Today we are inundated by our fast paced lives.

We eat fast (food), we travel fast, communicate fast taking little time to "slow down". There is no doubt we can appreciate modern technology, there are many benefits that come with it. However our focus here is to step away from it, take our bodies and minds away from our cell phones and computers and observe our surroundings and appreciate the simpler things life like the water beads on a spider

's web after the rain or the smell of the earth at the morning's dawn. When we "slow down", take time to notice and appreciate our surrounding we allow ourselves to become one with it. This then allows for greater understanding to which we belong thus then making us want to take care of ourselves and our environment better. Art in the Park is a series of workshops led by dynamic team of artists who, throughout the summer, will be organizing and hosting fun-filled afternoons of art, learning and community building. At this free, drop-in event, community members of all ages are welcome to join us to “slow down” and engage their senses by observing, learning about, and drawing, painting or sculpting Toronto’s urban nature in one of our many beautiful parks “en plein air.” All of our workshops will feature a guest artist as well as an expert naturalist who will be able to guide participating community members with their knowledge and expertise. Art in the Park workshops are bi-weekly events that we publicize widely using our blog, social media, and the David Suzuki Foundation website

At the end of each season participants will be encouraged to share there works of art in a exhibition and reception where we will celebrate all of our artistic accomplishments.
