Crystals and minerals are parts of a whole—of a planet that is interconnected. They represent our constant relationship to the places they come from, even if we have never stood there ourselves.
Though there may be distance, we live within a single ecosystem. What becomes unstable in one place will always ripple into another. If you rub garlic on the bottom of your foot, you will taste it in your mouth. This is how connected we truly are on this planet—and we cannot look away.
Many of these stones come from places where there is suffering: Iran, Afghanistan, the Congo, and beyond. We cannot shy away from the truth that our adornments and luxuries often arrive at the cost of both lives and land. Because of this, how we participate matters. It is not optional—it is essential.
One of the ways we do this is by economically directing our energy toward businesses that are conscious and mindful of the world, and of how their products are made.
Ashera Armour is dedicated to this work. Every year, and at every opportunity, we take small, intentional steps to ensure this through our products and our production. It is our responsibility—as makers and as consumers—to help protect the people and places that are both industries and homes to the materials that bring us beauty, meaning, and adornment.
