Nicobeads Surrounded by beauty and nature in Pemberton BC it is very easy to be inspired. The 'hot torch' gets to about 700 degrees to melt the glass.

I use coloured glass rods and melt them with the 'hot torch' around a 'mandrel' then I form shapes and use different colours for design and pattern. The glass is then slowly cooled so that it does not crack and then to finish it off I put the beads in a kiln for two hours to strenghthen.

It has taken a lot longer than usual but I’ve started making some stained glass art ready for summer.
Having just being diagnosed with aggressive cancer and knowing chemo might affect my dexterity one big fear is possibly not being able to do this for a while. I’m making the best of a situation and this creative outlet is therapeutic.
