The market has shifted dramatically in 5-6 years. Everyone’s buying the same thing on repeat. Vintage watches that used to move fast now sit on shelves - not because they’re worse, but because people are being fed the same narrative constantly.

Those vintage pieces are just as good, just as serviceable, just as rare. But demand has become so narrowly focused that collectors can’t even see other options anymore.

Everyone knows Santos and Tank Louis, but Cartier made so much more than the classics everyone’s chasing.

This Basculante is the same price as a new Santos, maybe even less, and it’s way more interesting and way more rare. Most people don’t even know these models exist, and that’s exactly why they’re worth wearing.

Stop buying what everyone else has and open your eyes to what’s actually out there. There are similar watches that are just as valuable, much more rare, and just as enjoyable to wear, but have to look beyond the obvious choices.

It’s genuinely getting scary, because at this level of finishing, there’s almost nothing that immediately gives it away. When you open the watch, nothing looks careless or off, even the signature on the back holds up, and when you compare it to images online it still doesn’t scream fake.

What leaves me speechless is seeing this level of ex*****on on a watch that costs a few hundred dollars. That’s when you realize how close replicas are getting, and how careful you actually have to be, even when you think you know what you’re looking at.
