Learned something new today….

Pyrite beads can decay and become toxic if not properly tended to.

These are my beloved 10mm beads I had in a little ziploc baggie and they started to oxidize- air and moisture- leading to Pyrite Rot. And a slight sulphuric smell. They are going in the trash.

So…. If you have pyrite beads, store them in an airtight container with a silica packet.

Don’t get them wet…

Keep them away from humidity or body sweat…

And if you have pyrite jewelry (pendants/bracelets), store them separately from your other Crystal jewelry (as the rot can spread). Store them in an air tight packet along with a silica packet…
