Doussot Watches is the independent microbrand created by Laurent Doussot — award-winning , knife maker, sculptor and industrial designer. For decades, Laurent has worked with steel and exotic materials, sculpting award-winning folding knives recognized for their balance, textures, and craftsmanship. I've cancelled the ONAMI Kickstarter.
Reason — in the second week of the launch, I learned of a second price hike from Miyota, on top of the first, plus a lead time now stretched to a minimum of 5-8 months. That killed the November delivery promise made to backers . Rather than ship late or cut corners, I pulled the plug.
The first few days showed real momentum — we raised ~CA$24K from 22 backers before closing. A huge thank you to everyone who followed this project, gave feedback, pushed me to refine it, and believed in it enough to back it. That momentum means a lot and it's not wasted.
ONAMI is just waiting for the next good wave.
I'll be back soon.
