Today is Miss Gi’s 28th birthday.

We are so excited to celebrate this beautiful human. Our witchy, mushroom foraging, quietly brilliant force.

Mackenzie Jones would not be what it is today without her. Truly. She has been kicking ass and taking names, growing her skills, refining her craft, and stepping into more and more responsibility since I’ve been stateside.

There is a steadiness to her that this space deeply relies on. A grounded, thoughtful presence that shows up every single day, no matter what is happening around her.
*
I am endlessly grateful for her, for her dedication, her creativity, and the way she continues to evolve within this work.

Today is Art’s birthday.

If you’ve been around for the last six years, you already know this man is not about to show his face on this platform, and honestly, we respect the commitment. But what he will show you is his work, his humour, and occasionally the world’s smallest and cutest dog, .tuco

Art has been with us since the pandemic, holding it down through some of the wildest seasons this business has seen. He keeps us laughing, keeps us on our toes, and truly, you never know what is going to come out of his mouth next.

Our master hammerer, our resident wildcard, and a steady presence behind the scenes that this place would not be the same without.
*
Also, please tell me someone else sees the Easter egg on the bench in front of him. I refuse to believe I’m the only one.

There is a lot changing right now. In the world. In this studio. In me. And with that change has come a quiet but firm decision to stop over-explaining choices that are rooted in my own well being.
*
For a long time, I softened things. I justified. I made sure everyone else was comfortable before I was. That chapter is closing.
*
This next one looks like trusting myself, even when it doesn’t make sense to others. Making decisions that protect my energy, my work, and the people closest to me.
*
The wild woman in me is no longer asking for permission. She is paying attention, choosing carefully, and taking care of herself and her coven.
*
If you’re in a season of shedding the need to explain yourself, I see you.

Eleven years ago yesterday, the first Mountain Ring was born.
*
I was sitting at a tiny bench in my basement, just me and little Lizard (the now aged black cat) curled up beside me. No big plan. No roadmap. Just a feeling I couldn’t shake.
*
I had come back from a cross country trip, and instead of feeling full, I felt the ache of missing home. The mountains. That sense of grounding and belonging that I didn’t know how to carry with me.
*
So I made something I could. A small piece of metal shaped into a landscape that meant everything to me. Something I could wear. Something I could take with me wherever I went, near or far.
*
I didn’t know then what it would become. I didn’t know that this one piece would grow into the foundation of an entire company. That it would resonate with so many women who also feel that pull toward place, memory, and meaning.
*
Eleven years later, the Mountain Ring has created a community. It has become a cornerstone of this work. And it is still, to this day, our number one piece.
*
That will never stop humbling me.
*
What started as a way to hold onto something I loved has become something that helps other people do the same. And that is not something I take lightly.
*
I am so grateful for each and every one of you who has chosen to carry a piece of this work with you. And I am so grateful for the version of me who missed home enough to sit down at a tiny bench and make something out of it.
*
Some things are meant to last.

New goggles are incoming.

We’re doing our best to stock up for the season and get ahead of what’s coming, quietly preparing behind the scenes as things begin to shift. There’s a lot in motion right now, and we’re meeting it with intention, one piece at a time.

I’ve always loved the reflection in a good pair of goggles. A small, curved window that captures a whole landscape. A moment. A place you never want to forget.

Happy Friday the 13th, loves.

It’s been a bit of a doozy of a week over here, but I’m choosing to lean into the magic of this day and call in all the good energy I can find as we head into the weekend.

There will be a little time at the bench, making some fun things and working on a few strata rings, which always feels like the best way to reset after a long week. Hands busy, mind quiet, silver slowly coming to life.
*
However you’re spending this Friday the 13th, I hope there’s a little magic in it for you too.

As a recovering people pleaser sometimes I need to remind myself of this fact.
*
So many of us were raised to make ourselves smaller. To be easier, quieter, more agreeable, more convenient for everyone around us. To carry more than our share.
*
But becoming yourself often means taking up space in ways that might surprise people. Setting boundaries. Changing direction. Choosing your peace over someone else’s expectations.
*
If you are learning how to do that right now, you are not difficult. You are not selfish. You are becoming.

A shout out to the women warriors who have walked through this studio.

Past and present, each of you has left your mark on this place and on me. I would not be where I am today without the hands, hearts, and energy that so many incredible women have brought to this work over the years.

Some of us still walk this path together, and some of us have taken different roads since. That is the nature of seasons and growth. But know that I think of you often and wish every woman who has crossed this threshold the very best in wherever life has taken her.

We are strong. We are powerful. And I will always support the women who have stood beside me along the way.

It’s the Saturday of my birthday sale and I’m working away.
*
This week carried a lot of stress and uncertainty, and some of it has spilled over into the weekend. Sometimes the best way I know how to steady myself is to come back to the work. I’ve tried my best to not let the studio uncertainty consume me. In fact I promised myself I wouldn’t let it. But when anxiety has questions, even if there are no answers, I feel obliged to tear my brain apart to find solutions.
*
The plan for later is much softer. A cozy corner, a cup of something warm, and diving back into ACOTAR. I’ve made it a personal mission to read all of Sarah J. Maas’ books before the next one comes out, which feels like a very good use of a Saturday evening.
*
