A number of years ago (no, I couldn't tell you how many) MaryAnne started helping me at events. She helped with setup, with talking to people, with sales, with take down... She helped me on high pain days, and low sanity days. She helped keep me company during the slow times, and especially helped keep spirits and energy up when I was tired. MaryAnne made sure I ate before my sugars dropped too low. And she'd even show me weaves/designs she found in her doom scrolling that she thought were interesting. And then I would usually show her that it was already on my list of things to make.

In 2024 I bought a scanning gun to help with sales, as I realized *I was having trouble remembering all the weave/product names and prices, so if I was having trouble as one who MADE all the things, imagine how difficult it was for one who wasn't fully immersed in chainmaille. There could only be so many pieces named "non byzantine", after all.

I share all this today for a reason. MaryAnne (or Minion, as her name tag read - her choice, I swear) is leaving Nova Scotia and moving back to her home province.

Please join me in wishing MaryAnne safe travels on the almost 20hr drive with everything packed in a big truck.

MaryAnne Bellefontaine I know you are scared and nervous and worried about making such a HUGE change in your life (again). I wish you all the best, and hope you have so many new adventures! I hope you settle in quickly, and that everything feels "like home" soon.
